should be interesting considering how healing/dps works...
for instance say LK fight... its ok if a healer gets picked up on valks in 25man... since you got like 7-8 others, but you got like.. 1-2 others in 10man.. and that 1 may be the disc priest spam shielding the group... infest hits boom goes the raid.
I'm guessing when beta hits, so will the raiding.. will be fun to see what happens!
Disc priests were actually originally supposed to be the one true hybrid in WoW. They were never really meant to be pvp "tanks," or shield spammers. Originally disc was pretty much half and half between shit to make smite better and shit to make shields better and reduce interrupts.
I remember some friends that were real good as shadow going nuts in bg's as disc with naxx gear, 2 shotting people with smite and shit.
Path of the Titans is gone
The whole Path of the Titans idea has been removed from the game. It will no longer rely on Archeology or on any kind of PvE/PvP progression and instead Blizzard will just introduce a new type of glyphs: Medium Glyphs.
Medium Glyphs will add a "fun factor" to abilities, and it wouldn't be surprising to see something similar to the Fortification or Breakthrough glyphs first previewed during Blizzcon 2009. (But probably not these exact glyphs, a lot of stuff happened since last year)
Guild Talents are gone
The guild talents are gone and your guild now gets extra bonuses depending on its level. There are 25 levels and each level will automatically reward with more cool stuff. The leveling process remains unchanged and your guild will gain experience through PvP, Dungeon and Raid progression, questing, etc ...
Guild currency has also been removed and rewards will just be "unlocked" after you reach a specific level or complete a guild achievement. Once a reward is unlocked, members will be able to purchase it with gold. Some of the rewards include guild tabards, mounts, heirlooms, and it looks like you will finally be able to have a guild tabard on your mount. (Just like the Argent Tournament banners)
New members of a guild won't be able to buy everything directly, they will have to contribute to the progression of the guild before they can access the top rewards. Each time a player helps towards the leveling he will gain reputation with the guild, the best rewards will require players to be exalted with their guild before they can buy it.
I'm disappointed with the path of titans, it looked really neat =/
the new guild thing though I think I like better. but I didn't really understand how the guild talents were going to work in the first place.
Yeah cutting out the path of Titans is fucked lol. I thought that they had said earlier that the reason you could only go 5 levels in cataclysm is because PoT would be like another 5 levels of specialization.
"Hey lets tease them with something as an excuse to only do level 85 this time cause we can't think of skills up to level 90, then remove it cause we don't want to develop it"?
More like "We realized we could accomplish the same goal by expanding the Glyph system rather than complicating things and creating a whole new one" Beta stuff is always subject to change, it's the first thing company's say when releasing information on developing projects.
What they said was they didn't want to give players ten more talent points and it would take more (relative) exp per level to level up. One level in cata will just be the equivalent of two levels in the previous expansions.
In the preview of the path of the titans thing a while back, it looked pretty awful. A bunch of minor cooldowns that would have just been macroed into other abilities and might as well not exist, and some minor passives. It would also have been pretty gay to have to specialize in one path because it was the best for pve dps for example, and gimp yourself out of stuff for your offspec/pvp/etc. I'm glad they dropped it.
It was a neat little bonus for not having 5 extra talent points to be able to get a few extra stats while speccing down a tree and such. Them taking it away makes Cataclysm have what? 1 or 2 new abilities per class, only 5 extra lvls and the talent trees they've shown so far, yes I know they will change, show them moving key talents lower in the tree so you can't even offspec into another tree a little more with those 5 extra talents.
You guys like this game so far? We've made a bajillion trillion dollars with a tried and true formula? TIME TO FLIP TURN THIS BITCH UPSIDE DOWN AND CHANGE EVERYTHING!
You guys excited for all these crazy new changes!? OOPS WE TOOK ALL THAT OUT LOL!
Think he means learned abilities, talent trees were available in BC anyway weren't they? Near the end anyway
Yeah, cool abilities like +20% bandage potency and +10% dmg for 5 seconds on a long cooldown were really going to turn this game upside down. Imagine how fun that shit would've been.
There are plenty of new talent abilities/effects in cata as well, so I don't see what your point is.
