It's ringthree, what do you expect?
All I can say is I heart the ignore list
How is that a global rule? Post whatever the fuck you want until the company that owns it tells us to take it down.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought Mod Cat brought the hammer down as it pertains to ff14. I know people there were bitching. As it is, if you got signed up for the F&F Alpha, you agreed to an NDA. Tonko is enforcing said NDA. Deal with it or don't partake in Alphas/Betas with NDA's that can get people/sites in trouble.
Why is this even a discussion? Why are people even contemplating biting the hand that fed them? I would think people who received an alpha invite wouldn't turn around and shit on the person who hooked them up. Tonko's role as a mod has nothing to do with this, people shouldn't be this retarded. He didn't become a moderator to "POLICE TEH FORUMZ FOR BLIZZ" and such a suggestion is rather lol worthy.
But hey, if you want him to never do shit like that again for the community here, please continue the pointless bitching.
And Blizzard's policy pertains to how BG handles information how? We've never been against posting NDA breaking information, until the company tells us to take it down. And hell, we've still got tons of FFXIV NDA breaking info going around these boards, or atleast links to where you can get the information.
I'm not saying what Tonko is doing is wrong, because I'm sure none of the admins would have a problem with it. And hell, if Tonko wants to protect the NDA as he works for Blizzard, thats fine and dandy. I'm just correcting your opinion about how BG has handled game information being posted on these boards.
After talking about old vanilla wow today with a couple people earlier today, specifically about the Benediction/Anathema quest.
With all the changes to the old vanilla wow zones coming is Cata, is this quest still going to be able to be completed? Will MC still exist to get the EoD for that matter?
Epic items in Cataclysm
We're actually working on restoring the epic feeling to epic items in Cataclysm. Epic loot should be epic, and something to be very proud of. Our plan is to try and get the Heroic -> Blue Gear and Raid -> Purple Gear balance back.
Woo!
questions like this are pretty relevant to me. since my highest lv toon is 52 I'm still doing a lot of questing in the vanilla WoW areas (probably will be for a while since I switched to leveling a prot paladin)
does anyone know how this will change the questlines in the vanilla areas? will it play like a different game?
Blue Post Regarding leveling in Cata
"As it is, Cataclysm will bring about a much better quest flow, both in terms of the way quests are given in individual zones, as well as the way in which players will be directed from zone to zone. It will be completely reasonable in Cataclysm to level from 1-60 in Azeroth solely on Kalimdor, or solely on Eastern Kingdoms. In general, there will be much less need to jump from continent to continent because you hit dry spots while questing and need to find somewhere else to go in order to find level-appropriate quests. The goal is to make sure players are given the choice to go to the zones they want to while leveling, rather than force them to the other end of the world for a level or two."
I find this pretty disappointing since it seems like they're making leveling 1-60 much more linear like it is in BC and WotlK. Enter one zone, do all quests, go to next zone, do all quests, rinse, repeat, etc. I rather enjoyed ping-ponging between zones within the same level range and figuring out when I could do certain quests and when I had to run to another zone and finish a few there before returning (I never used leveling guides). Either way I really don't like the "Level from 1-60 on one continent" thing they have planned. With how much of Azeroth they are changing I wanted some incentive to experience all the changes/ quests on a new character.
Yeah I'm not crazy about the 'all on one continent' thing...quest flow still needed to be better than it was, but no incentive to explore is a little disappointing.
I'm happy if the quests are more wotlk like and less vanilla like.
It's too hard to have to decide if you want to level in Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord, I want blizzard to make the choice for me!! I agree though, I think it's lame, new players won't even know another continent even exists really. They should be promoting travel between the two continents so people rerolling/new people can see all the changes to the world.
You guys, they're making 'WoW for Idiots' so they can't have too complex traveling!
Fuck jumping from continent to continent, running out of quests early in stonetalon sucks, riding a mount all over to get fp's just to level sucks. Fuck that shit.
Thank you for making questing more linear. I hate starting as an undead and wanting to jump straight to the barrens asap. I hate making a nightelf and trying to get a port to elwynn. I've done the questing grind from 1-60 in vanilla several times, from 60-70 and 1-70 several times, and from 70-80 and 1-80 several times. I appreciate them making it slightly easier by me not having to jump on a zeppelin, mount up, and run all the way to hinterlands or whatever. I can't stand when quests dry up on my alts, traveling around is the worst part of questing too me. I much rather do zone>zone>zone like in ffxi/wotlk.
I'm wondering where all this 'stop dumbing down my game!' qq'ing was when ghostlands was put into the game as a better place to level a horde toon than barrens.
