I'm not necessarily taking this as serious as I am just having fun.

It's just flattering when someone devotes a wall of text to something you think up in a few seconds. All we need is now is some flight and boat paths and we'd be having a ball.
That's hardly a wall of text, unless you are including the quotes of you and are viewing it at 800x600. Think for more than a few seconds next time.
You're honestly not worth it lol.
Well there is still the exploring achievement, and making the quests more linear, means you get time to explore each zone (as that is what WOTLK does with quests) you basically go all over one zone and explore it while questing.
Sure new players might get a kick out of exploring at their own pace; but only 1 raidlock per week will mean even more alts, therefore people will want to level faster.
Well the "lvling" is being changed so you can do it linear.. doesn't mean you have to do it linearly... you can wonder the entire world doing quests if you want to.
As for leveling changes: Being a new player, filling in the gaps with more areas you can quest in will be nice. I don't sit and play for long periods of time, so some days it takes me a little while just to 'stage' a new questing area.
Going around the world is still cool and I'll continue to do it, but hopefully this just makes the transitioning between areas a little more simple (remember I haven't been playing long at all, so I haven't figured out the quest progression yet)
Yeah, and to go with this, it's impossible to know where all the quests are when first leveling. It takes a good deal of exploration to find it all and it's not really natural to do all of that exploring. If you take a zeppelin to Grom'gol, how likely are you to run down to Booty Bay to get the 4 quests (one quest-line) involved in northern STV?
You completely missed the point. The point is not about whether people should post stuff on the boards or not, it is about whether being a mod could be a threat to your employment.
As Tonko can't control what other people post, but can get it in trouble for it, it would probably be in his own best interest to step down until the NDA is removed. We are not talking years here or anything, it's probably only a couple of weeks at most.
I am just saying that based on the impression that Tonko (or whoever said it) is giving that Tonko's job could be in trouble if information is posted here. If his employer is fine with him modding here and understands that he can't control everything posted then it really isn't much of an issue. But if that was the case then we wouldn't be having this conversation.
PS. Sorry if this is late, I was out of town for a while.
I won't discuss details of my employment. Weather my employment is put at risk by people posting Cata Alpha materials or not has nothing to do with my mod status, and regardless of what may go on at my job, I personally will not tolerate NDA breaking materials being posted on the boards.
Any other points of view about it are purely speculative.
I don't care about the details of your employment. I was just giving a sound piece of advice. Your personal tolerance of NDA violations doesn't really make a lick of difference to me. You were the one that is at risk, and you were the one that brought it up. If you want to risk your job then go ahead. You are contradicting yourself, though.
I wasn't saying you should temporarily step down so that people could post NDA violating materials. I was saying you should temporarily step down because I would hate to see you lose your job just because some asshat can't keep it in their pants.
Uhh, he's more likely to lose his job not because he can't "moderate" the people posting NDA breaking information but because he LET THOSE PEOPLE IN SO THAT THEY COULD BREAK THE NDA. It's a "friends and family" alpha, which should mean you're inviting people you can trust, and people you can trust shouldn't be out there breaking the terms of their agreement. People here breaking the NDA can directly lead back to Tonko inviting random people on this forum, which he "shouldn't" do in the first place. But we should be respectful of the chance Tonko has given us, all of us, and respect the agreement we agreed to when we got into the alpha.
That's the problem here, the fact he's a mod really doesn't mean he's going to get in trouble. It's people biting the hand that feeds them.
The fact that he's a mod makes it easier for him to hand out alpha invites as well as more likely to hand out alpha invites since he can police the people he is serving.
If he handed out invites and wasn't a mod, and people violated the NDA, he'd be at even more risk to lose his job because the other mods might not catch things quick enough or realize what it is/if it's a violation.
Not to mention, people shouldn't be breaking the NDA they promised to uphold, and should be punished for doing so. The forum giveth and the forum can taketh away. You hurt one of it's longstanding members, you deserve whatever consequences given to you. Regardless of if he is a mod or not.
