won't affect higher lv feral/boomkin druids, but not having Omen and and a few things from the resto tree early on will suck

I think it's a good move in overall. The only drawback is that 1 point every 2 level when you're grinding will be boring![]()
I'm kind of happy with the change. Whenever the first batch of cata talents came out I was way underwhelmed... it just didn't seem like anything was really being changed. Vanilla > bc saw crazy changes and same with bc > lk. I wouldn't even say crazy changes just complete overhauls almost.
this is what I wanted to see is just a complete overhaul to make the game seem new.
This.
I could easily see Blizz giving druid 4 specs instead of 3, but most feral talents had abilities that applied to both forms. It could really go either way.
Overall, I'm not sure if I'm 100% on board with this, but I fully understand the feeling that caused this change. Classes at low levels don't really work the same at 80 and all the trees are practically the same for a while (well, maybe not all). As long as I keep Improved Stormstrike and we still get the new 81-85 moves, I can live with it.
Also, my Fury Wargen won't have to wait 60 levels before he gets the only thing I'm rolling him for.
So they are making the talent trees a lot simpler. That's kind of a good thing I guess, since there really is no real difference between most builds anyways right now. Aka if you're going to be a UH DK for single target dmg you use this build, if you AoE this build, if you're blood this build, etc etc.
yeah i'm looking forward to the next build a whole lot more now.
I wonder what it will be like in Cata looking for tanks and healers in random dungeon queues from 1-70. Any predictions? :D
10-39 shitty, 40-80 not so bad I'd guess.
edit: 40-85 even.
Anyone can really tank before 30ish and Scarlet Monastery Cath/Armory. I used to tank it on my arms warrior with a 2 hander.
Who knows. Having access to more tools from their spec might help @ 10+, but I doubt it'll be all that different.
Good call by Blizzard I think. It hardly felt like my trees were different at all this far, and mastery has seemed very lackluster, at least for my spec.
Looking over the talent trees of the specs I've actually played, a lot of the cool new stuff weren't just abilities, but talents that changed the application of an ability. I was kinda looking forward to stuff like the Searing Flames and Improved Lava Lash talents. I don't doubt that stuff like Maelstrom Weapon will stick around, but I wonder how the newer ideas will be realized. Will it be from go or will it still carry a heavy talent investment?
Im not too sure about SF since you will have to position it perfectly not to hit adds instead, and you cant use FN with itbut on single-target fights its gonna be wicked.
MW will linger on, we've gotten too accustomed to it by now. if they removed it blizz would have to compensate with buffing shocks instead, which would most likely unbalance elementals in some way.
Im very keen to see them remove WF-CD by making it exclusive to one hand, and I love indoors GW :3
edit: MW will most likely be furthest down as it is now
Jeez, I just realized. I used Magma so much, I kinda thought it was all fire totems. Elemental will be happy now that they can make Flametongue almost as good as Wrath, so they can FN on it with only the crit loss.
Be nice if the just added it to searing, though honestly I'll probably be using magma anyway. AOE + Spy check is usually more useful even with the higher cost/lower duration.
Which is how it works now. The problem is, most of the distinguishing talents are of the "% more" variety, which is what they're trying to get away from. The play design of cat vs bear doesn't fundamentally change (at least, not in LK, it would be a little different now with the inclusion of Pulverize but not by much) as you move down the talent tree, which is why I'm puzzled over how they're going to make it work.

Oh blizzard I love you when you aren't doing stupid things with people's privacy
When do you think they'll change the talents in the beta to fit the new announcements? Could it be soon or could this actually push cata into 2011?
