recent blue post:
So it's confirmed that Cata heroics will be as hard as TBC Heroics, as most guessed when they pushed their way through Stonecore for the first time. The normal dungeons require a little more crowd control than many LK players are typically used to, but they aren't intended to be brutal. You shouldn't need to farm a lot of gear before stepping into one. Keep in mind that feedback is going to be all over the place in a beta. Some players are heading into dungeons they know nothing about and getting frustrated when someone can't immediately explain the boss mechanics to them. Some just have no sense in investment since this isn't their "real" character (such irony). Some of the bosses are overtuned and some of the class abilities are undertuned at this stage. Because Uldum and Twilight don't have quest rewards yet, there are also some folks who are just really undergeared. Half your glyphs probably don't work. The new enchants aren't readily available. And so it goes. That sort of thing will all get ironed out over the next several weeks.
You shouldn't have huge mana problems in a normal dungeon. Your middle heal should get you through most of it just fine. You'll have to use more of your emergency heals in the heroics and raids, and you'll also be expected to gear up a little more for the heroics and raids. In Burning Crusade, players went and finished the Shadowmoon quest lines or got their reps to Exalted or maxed out their trade skills in order to have the best gear available for the heroics and raids. That is our model for Cataclysm.
Let's hope they keep the tabard championing system, I don't want another Shadow Labyrinth/Lower City rep grind.
I'm actually looking forward to this, moreso if they keep the tabard system. Doing heroics in BC was a lot of fun because of the challenge, instead of Wrath where most could just be facerolled fairly easily from the get-go. I can't think of any pulls in Wrath similar to the ones in the Blackheart room.
early TBC type heroics + the current LFD tool = disaster
It's just more incentive to queue with a group, ideally a full group.
I thought the only heroics in TBC were slave pens and ramparts lol
I've done several of the places... if you got bad people in your group.. instances are going to take a loooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time (especially vortex pinnacle, i've heard of people taking 45min-1 hour excluding flying back from deaths time)
I think the most challenging/interesting.. one was Halls of origination. The "Sun god" wow... his aoe is ass rape 8K/1sec (on everyone for 30sec) + the other stuff he blasts you with + stacking magic damage debuff
meh recent build notes (I'm not in beta).
Nothing is really rage-worthy, but losing Lava Burst on MW is a surprising blow. Was kinda looking forward to Flame Shock > MW Lava Burst crit. New Stormstrike evens it out, but I liked the idea of having Hadouken somewhere in Enhancement.
Recent patch left out a few details i think
As for hunter... monstrous bite now reduces healing on target by 25% (no moe increasing pet damage self buff).
Also from recent patch that made devilsaur bites go down from 50-60K to 40-45K... BUT! Now the normal 'bite" damage went from 4-6K to 15-20K (bestial of course) and the new talent of 2X killcommand crits buff makes kill command reach toward the 50-55K range still. overall.. blizz is really oping hunters. Abuse it while you can before the steep cliff of a nerf! XD
I heard DKs got shadowform
Then I researched it a bit more and it was a DK casting Dark Simulacrum on a Priest who used Shadowform.
Made me climax, then limp.![]()
The troll bear form is still fugly+3, the cat and the worgen forms are not bad.
Eh. Only so much you can do with Troll + Bear.
So I did a bg.. its lv 80-85.... Dk tanks are dam near unkillable )100K hp and that ghoul sacrifice is like 50,000 hp) and pet hardly hurts them ;/
also... its annoying as hell to try to kill another hunter with camo haha, talk about ... being gay, its worse then rogues! basically, its like a 1min pally bubble... and if they never move you never find them!![]()
Has anyone been successful with the Twilight Highlands ring of blood -esque thing? The worgen guy RECKS our tank, litteraly knocks him down in two hits (Got a feeling hes sucking some how, he admitted it was a premade) Also the changes to resto shammy is pretty immense, in retail you can spam with your hearts content and not even second guess your mana pool, in cata i dared used anything other than riptide/healing wave xD.
Anyone finding the leveling of 84 > 85 is extremely slow, twillight higlands is pretty boring quest wise, has nothing to keep you interested like a story or an exciting plot, just go here kill x and do this. Shame because Hyjal/Vash'jir/Uldum where outstanding zones. I guess Twilight Highlands being visually beautiful makes up for it sort of, and no quest rewards kinda sucks aswell...must get .. 85 ... to rest .. raid content ; ;

gives you an idea of hunter camo and what it can do!
he doesn't show how much op it is though and all you can do!
He's buggy atm, and if you die to the first one on transformation.. his body stays around, and if you die to the 2nd one as he comes on his little wagon thing, he is stuck on it. have 1 person stand near quest starter... other get the guy to 1K hp on the wagon.. start quest -> kill guy on wagon -> finish quest.
too bad no items for the entire quest chain, other then that pretty easy (especially last guy)
--- edit
Camo's 'Opness" goes down as more people are around.. 1vs1 though don't even try, its suicide and a guarantee win for the hunter![]()
