Maybe it's because I never really got into Warcraft 3, but I don't really consider Arthas/Lich King to be that amazing of a villain. Better than Illidan for sure, but I think Deathwing is a more powerful/sinister/interesting villain than him.

Mr Casual can go to his 5 man instance run 3 of them in a row and help Jaina while he is at it to stop the Lich King in his way, why does Mr Casual then have to go to 25 man to kill the guy playing 7 hours a week? Mr Casual should not have to be raiding 25 man normal to see lore, making the content boring as fuck for the none casuals 4 months down the line leading to burnout/quitting.
Yeah, but this was never supposed to be the case. 10 man raids were supposed to be tuned to the same difficulty as 25's (just for less ppl). This got changed down the road, but mainly since ppl were entering 10's w/ gear from 25's.. w/ made the encounters a bit easier
I never said Mr. Casual has to raid 25. I don't give a flying fuck if he raids 10 man or 25, and neither does Blizzard. They're not merging 10 and 25 so some 4.3k GS player can coast his way to a lich king victory.
Look at the bottom line: If Mr. Hardcore guild gets burnt out and quits, thats what, maybe 10-20 people that aren't paying? Now think of the thousands of Mr. Casuals that aren't quitting because they aren't burned out of being rejected for raids by Mr. Hardcore's selective group, because they can band together and do their own.
Which makes Big Boy Blizzard more money? Which has more voices that can voice happiness with the direction the company is taking?
If Heroic LK is "boring" for you now, there has never been an encounter in the history of WoW, aside from encounters tuned to the point of impossibility, that could give you trouble. Why this difficulty is an issue at the end of the 2nd expansion I don't get, though.
Why you derive your enjoyment out of a game from comparisons against other people, I don't get either.
Mr. Casual's $15/month means just as much as your $15/month, in fact, his pretty much means more because there's far more Mr. Casual's than Mr. Elitist Dickwad's in the game. Why should HE have to settle for only a portion of the game when he pays for access to just as much as you?
LK is not exactly gimp since he broke out of Kil'jaeden grasp. Lore wise sure Deathwing is a more powerful fiend.
I never said he was. But how Lucavi talked about him is not that uncommon. Maybe I should take that as a sign of how powerful Arthas is or something, but I don't really see him as that much. He's a byproduct of the rebellion of an underling's experiment of the true enemy of the universe. Doesn't seem that amazing when you consider that the Old Gods are still more interesting/powerful villains and aren't as strong as the big bad guy...
No instead he has to quit because his job is taking up too much time, his wife doesn't want him playing. The amount of reasons someone who is casual can't play WoW is a lot more then the reason someone who is just burnt out on stuff.
I said before it is fine for Blizzard to let casuals play and down things, don't make all of the playerbase have to play easy though. There is a reason single player games have different difficulty settings, some like the challenge, some are just plain dicks and wouldn't be satisfied untill done it on expert, just because 95% of the population won't do it, does not mean there should not be the option. Fuck make it a troll instance, make sure there is no 310% flying mount hell if it make the playerbase happy, make it drop no loot, just atleast have something there for the challenge that some people can say, i did that and i am proud.
About 10 posts up i said LK25 HC was difficult and challenging, nowhere have i said it is boring.
Every single other boss in HC ICC 25 is more HP and more damage pretty much
If you need to raid 7hrs each day to down whatever content (super hard or super easy) in this day and age something is wrong with you.
Go ahead and brag about downing hard shit, no problems with that.
10-man becoming the primary raid would be a welcome change in my book. I liked Salvage so much more so than Dynamis.
With this new system it will be a lot easier for blizzard to add more loot to each bosses loot tables as well as more trash epics. All pieces will be in all forms of the instance, you no longer have to make 2 different loot tables for each boss, just different item levels. 10s and 25s now are essentially 2 different raids entirely, now with them being one, you can have the same amount of loot as 2 instances in one.Not only this, every single class is going to look fucking identical. It is bad enough as it is, now with the same loot from 10 and 25 man why even bother. Just fuck the class system and gear just make new classes called Red, Blue, Green, Red tanks, Blue DPS, Green healer.
Like I said, love the idea of loot being shared between 10's/25's. Not sure how I feel about the lockouts being shared. Unless they give us tons of small raids, or better yet, reason to go back to early raids, then there just won't feel like there is enough to do. In TBC I still did some kara, some Gruul or Mag, whatever, even though I was working on getting server firsts in sunwell. In WotLK I only set foot in nax/uld for the weekly, and ToC for alts. There isn't enough reason to go back to old raids right now like there used to be. As far as the new point system goes, seems ok. I think it'll work better than triumphs/frost with the way they convert with new content releases.
25 mans will most likely be dropping a higher ilvl of loot than 10s btw, so there will still be reasons to do them. I really don't think blizzard will just increase quantity, and not quality.
You read it wrong i think, the stats from 10 man and 25 man will be exactally the same.
Only heroic version of the instance will drop a different item level10 and 25-player (Normal difficulty) -- Very similar to one another in difficulty; drop the exact same items as each other. They'll have the same name and same stats; they are in fact the exact same items
So, I still don't understand why you're whining when you haven't beaten every hardmode out there. The insane difficulty still exists. Turn off the saurfang buff, and go do it - all of it - instead of whining about everyone else being able to do normals with a buff. Blizzard hasn't nerfed ICC25 hardmode, they're just going to consistently make it easier until Cata launches. If you want your "pride" of being able to do the hardest of the hard, then go fucking do it.
Its like the idiots crying that there shouldn't be an Easy Mode in Megaman 10 for casuals when they haven't even beaten Hard Mode.
Shit, go fraps your guild kicking HM alagon's ass or something.
there is no HM algalon but yeah
They only gave us a small tibit of info for the moment, blizzard always releases a teaser then explains on it more down the line and things always change. It's very unlikely for there not to be ilvl differences between 10s and 25s.
Although, if they want to make 10s/25s closer in difficulty to one another, then I suppose getting rid of those ilvl differences will help. Like I said, either way, it makes me miss my last guild that much less. Every time I pug a 25man I miss being in my old top 100 guild, working on HM LK and not having to deal with shitty players in pugs. Getting the same loot from the 10man version with RL friends and my sister is way more fun to me, not having to deal with pugs that won't let my warrior have his best in slot leather bracers, win.
^ Your posts are so hilarious when taken in context with your ava.
Lol
I see that kid like a giant floating Andross head in my mind, insulting the shit out of people older and supposedly smarter than him.
Its infectious, haha.
