I started in WotLK, these cata Heroics are worlds better than LK Heroics. It did floor me a little bit when I finally did my first dungeon that required a cata style of play, but it was so awesome. The heroics just amplify how good they are. No idea how they compare to TBC heroics but i'd imagine they are closer to TBC than what WotLK had.
There's no S in labyrinth.
Also, I'm super unexcited for cata recently. Honestly too bored to even log in and do the pre-cata events.
Until cata dungeons / heroics get nerfed (which we all know will happen), they feel close to how TBC's were at launch. Only difference is mobs don't have 30 min respawn timers. It was always epic getting to the last boss in Arcatraz or Botanica because it was a due or die moment if you didn't have a shaman w/ RR.. because if you wiped the entire instance had most likely already repoped
that sounds horrible. thank god there isn't a 30 min respawn timer in cata, most of my heroics that i full clear take over an hour to finish. I imagine heroics getting nerfed at some point yeah, regular dungeons though are already pretty easy. Yes you need to CC to beat them but the majority of boss mechanics are pretty forgiving. Not every heroic is hard though, Heroic SFK is easy as hell, along with VP. I heard GB and Heroic DM were easy also but i haven't had the chance to run those yet.
So far there have not been excessive amounts of trash in Cata dungeons, so in that way at least they won't feel much like TBC heroics. The only real problems will be groups with unbalanced makeups that cannot properly CC stuff, and you may find yourself burning 3-5 minute cooldowns to just DPS shit down before your tank gets blown up. It's exciting, but certain group comps will be punished harshly, esp. in places like Stonecore.
Cataclysm instance are pretty fun and good looking, but are too linear (like BC/wotlk). I really wish they made another black rock/blackrock spire...something huge with shortcut and many avoidable pulls
BRD / LBRS is sort of fine if they include a map, but no more maraudons plox
They are putting maps in every instance come 4.0.3, but I reckon it will still be stupidly easy to get lost in any of the blackrock dungeons and sunken temple.
Unless they put in some creative shortcuts like they seem to have done for Gnomeregan. That instance is down to 15 minutes from 2 hours now, which is very nice.
Sunken Temple was being chopped and remade last I checked mmochamp. Funny thing about wotlk dungeon and raids is people never uses the map anyway
This times a thousand.
People don't understand.. these are instances you're gonne be doing a lot for a while. Do you REALLY want them to be complicated? It may not be complicated to you, but just think about the people you'll get queued with. BRD has been out for how long? and I still get people coming in that don't know what to do. Been playing for 4 months and I already know that instance by heart.
Shame too.. BRD at that level is amazing exp, especially with RAF bonuses.
so yeah, just ran Heroic: Deadmines, and the final boss encounter is probably one of the best encounters i've ever done. Its epic on like 3 different levels of awesome. SFK is fail, DM is full of win on so many levels.
BRD is the most frustrating shit in the world, hate having to skip random dungeon bonuses so that I can que for dungeons Non-BRD because it is litteraly impossible to finish in pugs. I think I've finished BRD once and it took like 3+ hours, if I wanted something like that I'd play FFXI.
Call it 5 man raid and everyone will be happy.
I've had worse experiences with AN / Nexus / Oculus than with BRD (prision or upper city)
