The flow is great, you're not running all over the place for quests, they're all in the same general area. A lot of the quests are interesting/funny and many play like "end game" type things. There are much fewer "go kill x of y " type things and more of quests where you have a logical objective to accomplish.
My highest level character is 49, what will I be missing out on by not buying cata right away(other than the 2 new races)?
just searched...question answered...
Having a hard time finishing up my mage.. he's sitting at 71 but I just wanna keep making alts to experience all the revamped zones lol also I hate northrend :X
Question about new heirloom gear: How much are the new items going to cost? Same as the current ones? I'm saving up my points for now so I can get some new gear either upon release or when my character hits 85 so I can level alts.
As of right now, there's no new chest/shoulder heirlooms. The new cape and helm do go to 85, though.
i would honestly wait and see how long it takes to go from 80-85 before you worry about heirlooms stopping at 80. I really don't think its gonna take very long to hit 85 at all. If anything the new heirlooms will just help to give more xp bonus for all levels, 40% bonus is a lot, 45% if you have the ring from fishing tourny. I personally probably won't be buying any of the new heirlooms, just because they cost gold. I'd much rather my gold be spent on other things. Also with just the chest and shoulders leveling is pretty rediculous, i rolled a shaman on tuesday and i'm 44 already, only had 1 full day where i had nothing to do but WoW and thats where the majority of my levels came from. So yeah, if its worth it to you thats where they are.
I have the JP to get both the chest/shoulders for the alt that I plan on leveling, I just wanted to wait until cata launched to see if it was worth getting those or holding off to see if there were going to be any upgraded pieces that I could get. I just didn't want to spend points on HL when I could wait a week and get higher level versions for the same cost.
Pretty sure 80-85 will take under a week.
At this point, I would only bother spending JP on an heirloom weapon. The 1-60 experience is vastly improved. I leveled an alt 1-60 last week, and let me tell you the levels just fly by. I went teldrassil - darkshore - duskwood - n.stv - desolace - wpl - epl - badlands - winterspring - blasted lands.
The only "meh" section was the 25-30 patch: N. STV is gank central still, and only the middle of desolace is any good (north desolace is a lot like old desolace, south desolace has a LOT of running around), and arathi is mostly bad for alliance (and only ~20 quests too). I'd say it's worth doubling up and doing both duskwood and wetlands (both excellent zones for cranking out xp) and then skipping right to wpl, with the help of an instance or two.
Someone in my guild leveled 5 characters from 80 to 85 on beta, each run took him roughly 8 hours. 84-85 did go up in experience required however, so probably closer to 10 hours if grinding straight for 85. Doesn't seem bad at all.
The whole rested wipe thing is really kind of a dick move I think...I kind of understand the motivation, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Wait, why? They're just making it so you can't accumulate rest XP for levels which are not unlocked yet.
So having the weapon is better than say, the 20% xp bonus from both the body/shoulders? Also I'm running into an issue w/ my hunter that I only play 1-2 hours every other day or so that if I do a couple of instances I completely out level the area I was just at. I still only have the FP for Tranquillien on my BE hunter![]()
