If you're looking for fastest xp possible, of course get all heirlooms. You'll never find a better shoulder/chest while leveling.

However, a rare-equivalent weapon at all levels is a pretty huge buff. I'd say it is better than 10% exp rate, as it makes all quests which involve killing stuff trivial. For the majority of the game, your second most important stat is your weapon damage/speed. (Most important: movement speed)

The reason I wouldn't grind out shoulder/chest heirlooms now -- aside from the fact that things are relatively overpriced in JP -- is that those won't materially affect the enjoyment of 1-60, which is quite well done now. But making the content easier with a fat beatstick definitely helps, as there are still some quests that are a drag.

And if you are on a PvP server, a weapon is a damn good item to play with in any contested zones. Some dumbass frost mage @58 attacked my druid @58 yesterday, and proceed to get a face full of 3k dmg crit ravage; he was dead before my first mangle landed.

Like you said the big issue is the cost, the weapons(2H) are 3500. I have 3100 or so on my shaman and about 2400 on my DK. Wish they weren't so retardely expensive and it would be a lot less of an issue.

Do argent dailies instead. I think it would only take a week to get 50-70(?) tokens now.

iirc can't buy heirlooms unless you have Crusader title.

If you do dailies, get the purse instead of commendation, and do heroic ToC5 once a day, I believe it's 13 per day. Most expensive heirloom is 2h stuff being 95 seals, so not long to get a piece.

ten days maximum of grinding all the crusader dailies is enough for one of the 2h heirlooms, if you're that intent on conserving your JP.

I've been back probably about 10 days now and I've gotten much more JP than I currently have. Honestly, it takes me about 3-4 days tops to get 3k JP. Since i've been back on my Shamy I got:

    Shoulders: 695
    Body: 1100
    Back: 597
    Hands: 695
    Belt: 695
    Trinket: 695
    Bracers: 347
    Total: 4129 + current 3100 or so

    DK:

    Helm: 1100
    Legs: 1100
    Trinket: 695
    Total: 2895 + Current 2300 or so.

Getting JP is def not an issue. It would probably take me 5-6 days to get back the JP if I ended up spending it on a weapon. I just wanted to make sure I didn't spend JP on something now and then not be able to get a level 85 heirloom later. Thanks everyone for the input! Really helpful Now I just have to decide what kind of weapon I want to get

At 85 we'll probably be sitting on heaps of JP and nothing to spend it on within a few weeks.

Also what character are you going to level?

Random Question, i'm almost done leveling my first character to 80. My druid is almost 76 now, but I'm already thinking about what character I want to level next. I was already 70 when the big update hit so I didn't get to experience any of the new content.

Now I'm stuck deciding between Paladin and Warrior. I'm really looking to play a class that can run around tanking and hitting shit hard in PvP. I know I can already do that with Feral Druid, but I'd like to be able to swing a huge sword around in the process.

A lot of my friends who play the game tell me Warrior's suck because everyone just CC's them and Mages blow them up for free. They think that I'll get more frustrated than anything if I played Warrior as my first real PvP character.
I was kind of set on leveling a Worgen warrior, since Worgens can't roll Paladin. I know the expansion hasn't hit yet, but do you guys think playing Warrior in PvP would be all that much different than playing a Ret Paladin?

Ret Paladins are awful in PvP, so yeah, levelling a Warrior in PvP will be the superior experience. Plus the Worgen 2h swing animation is hilarious.

I started a Warlock but probably won't take it very far. I was thinking of maybe getting the Mace so that I could use it on Druid/Paladin/Warrior if/when I decide to take those up. I'm thinking of doing druid first.

Prot Paladins on the otherhand is pretty powerful in pvp. I'd go with that imo.

Ret pally is pretty hax in low level pvp actually, it's not until 80 that they start to fall apart in the face of superior classes.

Personally, for someone that wants to pvp and swing a big sword around... I'd go DK. Frost is absolutely absurd in pretty much any bg these days, they have the best healing debuffs at 85, and beyond all the actual skill shit, they just plain hit fucking hard. I've had 10k crit oblits in 70-74 where average max hp is about 10-11k, and the top people are around 15k (barring the prot war/pallies with 20k that can't actually hurt anything).

However, that kind of screws with the whole wanting to experience the old world quests thing heh.

Also, brutal gladiator weapons are 350 honor now, which is ~ 10 wins and you get about a level of exp in the process. They're superior to lv 75 blues and still superior to heirlooms at 75, although I'm not sure how much longer that will last.

Where do you pick those up? Or do you mean after this maint they'll be 350?

Gadget has them, I know there's more vendors in Nagrand and Area 52, but Gadget is the only one I know for certain has the 70 weaps.

Accessories are still completely missing, although today's patch may be fixing that.

Feels funny as hell running around as a dk with brutal weapon and a few pieces of lv 70 dk arena gear lol. But I have head/hands/legs/weapon and about 1k honor, and I really haven't spent that much time pvping, have only been back on WoW for a week and dk for a few days.

I ended up getting the 2H heirloom mace and plate chest piece. I already had the Mail shoulders so I'm going to use those on my pally that I went ahead and made. The reason I chose to go with the Mace instead of the Axe is that I can also use it on druid if need be.

Does the added exp work for quests as well(thought i read it did)?

Yes, quest and mob exp definitely. I want to say from all sources of exp, but i'm not 100% on that.

Does it show up automatically in the quest log then? I had a quest that said the reward was 300 and I got 300. That's why I was a little confused.
