so yeah, running through felwood herb gathering and i run into an event another player was doing from a quest. Theres a quest chain there that tells of illidan absorbing the skull of gul'dan and malfurian banishing him. i nerdgasmed.

Ran through Felwood yesterday and noticed it had a pretty good amount of changes(didn't know it was changed so much), but decided to skip it anyway. This makes me reconsider...

New Felwood was a pretty great experience when I leveled through it on my mage.

New forsaken starting zones=freaking amazing!!! My only problem is just about the entire story focuses on the "New Forsaken" after the death of Arthas, and I know that the moment I hit 68 and enter Northrend it will be "omg arthas is attacking!1111"

never go to quest in silithus. worst designed quest zone ever. EVER. if you happen to find yourself in Silithus, there is a portal at the inn that takes you to the Blasted Lands where you may regain your sanity.

Desolace was kinda walky and bear assy, but it wasn't that bad. Kind of hard to follow Stonetalon.

Incidentally, I JUST got to Silithus on my troll druid. Is it really that bad?

Desolace deffinitely worse than Silithus IMO.

Blasted lands beat Silithus and even Hellfire though, really nice zone.

Silithus was awful. I remember thinking "This place sucks. How many quests do I have to do to get the achievement then bust out? Oh, 19? That's it? No problem." Fast forward a few hours, "What the fuck was I thinking staying in this craphole?"

its that bad. do yourself a favor and walk into the inn and take the portal to blasted lands.

The zone won't be that bad to knock out for the achievement after tomorrow since you can fly everywhere, but until then its terrible.

@anyone that leveled past 80 in beta:

My hunter is my miner, my only real gatherer, but I will not be leveling him - How much trouble will I have flying around just collecting ore for a little while just to make getting up eng on my main a little cheaper?

It'll be annoying for a little bit with the initial rush, but once that dies down, it shouldn't be a problem at all. I actually mined in Vash'jir for obsidium ore then moving on to Twilight Highlands for elementium and pyrite. Vash'jir honestly was pretty nice, just treat it like any other zone, except your flying mount is a seahorse and you're underwater.

Edit: because I can't read and didn't see that you won't be leveling your hunter, Hyjal for obsidium shouldn't be bad, I'm not sure if you can get into Deepholm or not at 80, but that was good too.

I think you need at least 82 to get the quest to go to the maelstrom-> deepholm.

Not sure if mining is one of them, but there are a few professions you can only upgrade by getting to a phased part of Twilight Highlands, at 84.

Thanks for quick answers. I wasn't planning on leveling my Hunter at all, but when I'm not leveling I'll probably mine, just wanted to make sure I would be ok. If I can only do the first zone or 2 then whatever, I'll just do those lol. Still will bring in some moneys for professions.

Do you only get xp for nodes that still give skill? You'll probably gain some levels just from the process of mining lol.

No exp for skinning, since you kill mobs to skin. Mining/herbalism grants exp since you're going out of your way to gather and away from mobs/quests/etc.
