Do you only get xp for nodes that still give skill? You'll probably gain some levels just from the process of mining lol.

I've gotten exp from goldclover at 450 herbalism. Not sure if I would have for herbing silverleaf.

If you want to immediately flag for BRC, then visit the dungeon before cata starts. You can still discover the instance now

So to do dungeons you have to go to them first? that's kind of silly.

They said they'd "flip the switch" at midnight PST, which to me means rolling server restarts, so in reality it'll be closer to 12:10am or 12:15am, depending on how long it takes for servers to come back up. And you have to discover instance portals to queue for them. So far my plan is to log out by the Stormwind flight trainer, buy flight master license as soon as I log in, flying to the BRC portal, then flying back to Stormwind for a trip to Vashj'ir and a flight to Abyssal Maw's entrance. Keeping both instances queued from the get go suits me since I think I'd grow rather sick of the same dungeon over and over again, and both are trivial to clear in 251+ gear.

Iirc, there's a quest in hyjal(first hub?) that teleports you to the BRC instance entrance.

if you are already logged into game when the switch is flipped, you will be prompted to log out and log back in to access the new content.

Yes you get a system message notice. Then you get stuck at the login screen because milions of people are trying to relog

I think I'll be logging out at BRC entrance, hearth back to Org to get flight training, then queue a few times for gear/exp. I'm a tank so I can dungeon whenever I feel like. Then I'll probably quest in Vashjir to unlock that instance. Not sure ahead of that, not a big deal. Though I don't know where the Throne of Tides entrance is exactly, so lol.

Throne of tides is waaaay at the bottom of vashj'ir. You'll want a seahorse mount to get there. It's through the underground whirlpool thing in the abyssal depths or whatever it's called.

you don't need to log out for the BRC instance discovery or any of that, you can discover it pre-cata. I did and everyone else i l know has also. You go to the portal and it says "you have discovered blah blah blah." The instance isn't hidden in any cata area, go to it now and don't waste your time when cata hits

So I discovered BRC, and have 25 daily quests ready to turn in when the expo hits, and will be dungeoning with people. I heard BRC is worthless past 71 though so how would I discover the other instances? Is blizzard forcing me to quest in places to find the instances?

Yes, dungeoning on late beta was about 3 times as SLOW as questing. Your mileage may vary depending on PvE / PvP server, but it's an inefficient way to level, especially when you factor in the travel time to discover each instance location.

You don't even have to swim to Abyssal Maw. You can mount your flyer at the surface of water now and fly over the surface to where the Maw is. At some point you do get dismounted at which point you just swim downwards till you get 'flushed down.'

I'm probably going to dungeon for each gear upgrade in each dungeon. Probably going to try and make a full guild group for it too for guild exp.

i don't think i'm gonna bother running any dungeons unless my guild gets a guild group together for it. Must avoid LFG like the plague. hopefully people will be reasonable like they were on beta and start communicating on how to mark/CC/dps trash down.

I assume the quests are going to be flooded so questing isn't really an option. Even 3-4 days after the Shattering it was impossible to level on Arthas because each quest had 10+ people doing it.

The trick is to get ahead of the pack, and stay there.
