You know, for "Stat simplication" They really do have a lot of specific stats on the enchants, like expertise, resilience, hit rating, crit strike, spell penetration... I thought all of those secondary stats were going away, and would merely be computed from straight +AGL, +INT, +STA, etc...
Edit: And yeah, I was gonna post that same thing Eagle... I'm not too familiar with every talent tree, but I didn't see anything massively different in mage or paladin trees...
Yes, most of the changes aren't there yet would be why trees like the Paladin and Priest trees are COMPLETELY UNCHANGED. But the rogue tree has a few changes in it, so that is the updated Cata tree for them.
My comments on it are still the same, they're far more similar than I thought they'd be.
I'm pretty pumped about Cataclysm. Maybe it's because I'm playing WoW now but I'm more pumped about this than FF14 and with these new images and the info, I'm even more stoked lol.
Have they said yet what classes are going to be available to Worgen/Goblins?
...
They're at least partially completed, otherwise they wouldn't have been changed at all (paladin trees are unchanged because they aren't completed yet, for instance). Obviously this is the alpha/beta so there will be many tweaks and changes that come, but I was expecting radically different trees, not 80-90% of the same.
Because they've been mentioning they don't like talents that are just "+1%" here and there, and they want abilities to be more "fun". But almost every single +1%ish talent is still around. And there'd be little reason to have changed the trees AT ALL if they intend to fully remake them in another month or so down the development process, so most likely this is similar to how it'll end up being.
Basically I thought we were told mastery was going to be the one making up for lots of the +1% per talent here and there, but apparently we get both?
i don't think they know how they're going to change paladin yet, so..
God dammit man, how hard is this
Mastery is not implemented yet, therefore they can't adequately provide talent trees that reflect the Mastery impact
The trees themselves HAVEN'T BEEN FULLY DESIGNED YET
You're asking to see something that only exists in concept right now, and are somehow convinced that because it doesn't exist yet, it never will.
Yes?
Why is that so unusual? They already have some talents worked out, so they implemented them in the build so they could see how it plays now while it's early in the cycle and they can properly tweak it alongside changes down the road.
Trying to change everything at once makes for a lot of potential mess to clean up.
I wouldn't have guessed they'd use a bandage tactic for an alpha, I would have expected them to just allow something to be broken/unchanged. I don't see the point in giving them extra work and changes to do when they haven't gotten to finishing the changes they need to get out.
Some really interesting changes for the classes that have been changed a lot, Moonkin changes seem to be the most affected at the moment which is cool because that spec has been shit for a long time now.
Personally as a rogue can't wait to see what the self heal is like, hopefully it means i can have the possibility of soloing old instances without having to pray evasion + nuke keeps me a live or enchanting my weapons with gimp things. Also looking at the second to last tier makes me wonder if they will be changing killing spree glyph, as if not <1 min cooldown on killing spree will be massive win.
Totally psyched for cata class changes now, even with the smallest bits of info.
