I'm fine with anyone averaging above 8k without the buff. That's more than enough to kill everything. If they score lower...they should start thinking about pressing their button harder.

When dps all drop under that, it can get a little trickier, but it's still fairly doable. At 6k, that's where it start getting really bad depending of the mechanics and healing.

If people are doing less than 9-10k in a decent situation they just plain need to spend 10 minutes on a target dummy with EJ open, and I tell them that when I'm in heroics with them, even though the group is going to be just fine pretty much regardless at this point.

I'm not saying that 8k is great dps, I'm saying that if everyone can pull over this threshold, the instance will be a joke.

Some might have noticed that you'll no longer get "dungeon in progress" warnings anymore, to prevent someone (always tanks, usually) from leaving the queue because they just want to chance one that's in progress and hope it's near the end. Well, I've noticed a trend. I always queue as tank and tick myself for being the Dungeon Guide. Over the last few days I've noticed when my instant-queue is ready and the thing shows up where it shows what your role is it'll show your role and whether you're a guide or not. If the icon shows up stating that I am not the guide, I have an extremely high probability of joining one that's already in progress.

Just a FYI for those tanks on here .... not that I abuse it or anything.

I only added that disclaimer because I read some 20+ page argument on mmo champ at work which basically had all these (elite) tanks saying they only want VP, and then all these other people who QQ'd about needing rep/JP/gear saying it was unfair ...

Was a funny read. I honestly don't do it! =p

If you're an elite tank you're not pugging your daily dungeon, you're dragging 4 people in after every raid night. mmo-champ is crawling with trolls.

If you're an elite tank you are pugging a daily dungeon because you can fucking solo that shit no matter how low the IQ of the other 4 are.

No reason to put yourself through an hour of torture when competent guildies willing to skip pointless bosses will cut your time by two thirds for the VP.

I liked goblin intro better, I loved the GTA stuff.

The goblin intro was cute but I got really annoyed with how they trash everything. I know that's part of their character but I wanted to do a quest where I clean up some of their litter.

As for the worgen sniffing, I didn't really hear it that much but then again, I tend to keep the music up and the other sound effects down.

Wasn't really speaking to difficulty, it's just stressful when you have four huge question marks with you every single heroic. Instead of concentrating on your own performance, PUGing is a constant chant of 'please don't fuck up please don't fuck up please don't fuck up.' Even simple things like the drakes in grim batol, done badly, can slow down a group considerably. We are still talking about tanks not wanting their time wasted in heroics, right?

I think the biggest thing you fail to realize is that 99% of the time when you're going "please don't fuck up please don't fuck up" it's directed at the tank.

Also that when you're running around with 200k+ hp and 30%+ avoidance doing 12-13k dps and 6-8k hps, there's a whole hell of a lot less people can do to fuck up. Break CC? Yeah, there's no CC. Die to 1 shot mechanics? Doesn't matter, boss might take an extra 30 sec to a minute. Suck at shit like fire spawn thingies in grim batol (which most people ask to skip now anyway)? Doesn't matter, death grip + coi = lol. etc. etc.

honestly thanks to the 15% buff pug heroics are now on par with lk heroics, and will be even easier before long

I can already get literally twice the hp and avoidance as when I did my first heroics in Cata.

Yes. Due to the fact that they're ridiculously easy, joining a full random as a tank is not even remotely close to the kind of time wasting you're saying.
