Listen, Rock is the way to go. No girly rock and shit tho, but you don't want to overcompensate w/ death metal either. Mix it a little bit: RATM, Godsmack, QotSA, Muse, throw some Oasis in there. I think everyone goes through a stage of attraction to the same sex. Not neccessary a sexual attraction, but attraction none-the-less. It's just a stage of figuring out who you are.
