In spite of that post and thread title, this is a serious thread.

i'll just give a brief preview
one of my points is going to revolve around birth order and generation of anti-androgen antibodies in the mother and the affect of this on the development of the child's nervous system

Before you start, make sure you differentiate or point out what you are arguing is produced. For example, in homosexuality, two issues that may not be related are feminine characteristics (also called non-dominant) and sexual atraction towards members of one's own sex. I assume the research will address the latter.

I can be patient. just bump the thread when its ready. I probably wont intend to debate you, but ask for clarifications on parts that may not be clear to me.

Well, not exclusively. There is research that attempts to point out that many of the self-identified gays also happen to manifest non-dominant (feminine, or non tipical, what have you) characteristics. Whether it be a higher voice or a specific swirl pattern on the top of their heads. Research has also tended to call attention to the relationship between physical characteristics not often associated with masculine character, and the development of a preference for atypical gendered behaviour.

So yes, you can choose to limit yourself to pointing out the correlation between self-identified gays and their feminine characteristics. Since it can easily be implied that feminine gender characteristics may follow the physical ones. It's your choice which one you want to pick up.

Basically, i wanted you to be specific with what you wanted. It is not the same to say that a biological mechanism A causes feminine physical characteristics, feminine behaviour, self identification as gay, and attraction to same sex than saying that biological mechanism A causes attraction to same sex.

edit; in other words, to be wary of a loaded term like gay or even homosexual.

from my understanding, there's been linkage analysis studies of homosexuality, although i can't remember what the results were, although i do believe certain genetic loci were implicated. maybe i still have the notes or can find the paper. it was a 400 level molecular biology class

it's been a year since i took that class, though.

and yeah, i believe non-dominant characteristics are quite important

if ethics didn't exist, i can think of several experiments that would offer quite some insights. even without the question of ethics, biological research regarding this is extremely difficult to do without causing tons of criticism.

for example, there's some very interesting research in mouse models but it's quite old

really, i don't think there's much of an argument here to begin with, but yeah, i'll put something concrete together

i find it more shocking that someone would argue that biological factors play no role in all cases of homosexuality

I've heard of this in regards to its possible influence on gender identity not Sexual preference though.
