Hey there.
First off, congratulations on getting an interview. That's half the battle!!

Well, if its any consolation, I just had an interview last month and they didn't ask this question at all, which was weird.

Anyway, there is so much information flying around that I kind of just prepared a general answer that was in my opinion.
I was planning on stating something along the lines of "I believe that everyone should be able to have access to some kind of healthcare blah blah blah but that I think the bill should be watched carefully and we definitely have a lot of work to go before anything happens.

I know that doesn't give you much to go by.

Alright so I have this upcoming medical school interview on Friday and obviously a hot topic right now is the current reform going on in America. My adviser told me to be prepared for questions about it and the like. Sucky thing for me is that I don't know much about politics/current events/etc surrounding health care. Yes I know it is all about my future as an employee in medicine, it's just the boring side of it (for me.) Just need to get caught up is all. I've been doing my research but sometimes it's easier if people spell it out for you.

I have pretty much all other questions down and am confident I will do well in that regard. I was hoping you guys could give me a rundown on the current health care stuff going on or medical politics in general. You can talk to me as if I'm retard, it helps me.

Most of what's discussed in my hospital is the impact it will have on medical professionals and the ethics of treating the patients versus running a business. I would be prepared to be quizzed heavily on your ethical values regarding the current events and, rather not what side of the fence you are on politically, but ethically.
