The other PLD macro'd in full iron ram gear and iron ram lance, along with whatever rings/earrings/etc. he might have been wearing, and only took about 600-750 dmg from each CB.

They probably didn't have any other tanks available and bringing another tank just in case of a "WTF" situation can be the difference between a win or a wipe if their main tank died.

if he can dump gil on haidate he should have no problem dumping 500k on AH gear that would have probably resulted in living.. Either way, Ultima is just an annoying fight and CB is great for some lols.

It's great when someone steps up and says they're going to stun it, cast stun/shield bash/weapon bash/blade bash at 1, said they did it, and then they die, tho I've seen it done once out of the hundreds of Ultimas I've been too.

As tank not bringing a MDB/MDT set to Ultima even if the fight is a joke you're being a waste of space.
Counting on Magus roll to save your life is laughable.

Killing Ultima before the second or third CB is up can be pretty dificult at times if the bitch decides to randomly crap on you with its shields, and then you don't want your tanks in the back sitting out their weakness while Ultima takes your team out one at a time.

Funny thing is any decent PLD can survive CB with a mediocre MDB/MDT set. I use to think it was a big deal if a PLD never died to CB, then I realized it wasn't that big of a deal.

Funny story behind this sig (funny to my salvage group at least).

We were on vent discussing how Pephredo/Zachary are 2 crap ass NMs. So a friend of mine drew this up and put it on my facebook. Should bumb you up to 256 base so + 16 from merits is 272. Body is +12, and hands are +15 so 299 in that alone.
