Interesting commentary (no gameplay video, just a chat session) about snipers in black ops and I think they bring up some good points that everyone should think about.
"Wood, do you like the ACR?" "Faggot" lol
I love the ACR.
1.5 KDR, weaksauce
I hope I can break 2.75 8)

This was JD2020's response to one those retarded idiots bitching on Youtube. Agreed with pretty much everything, he's also already better than Bowling.1] Explosives are not more powerful than Quickscoping. You have one, or two explosives - not magazines worth in rapid succession.
2] Anyone who Quickscopes will say automatics are easier; that's human nature when defending a point. More importantly is the irrelevance of this point. It doesn't detract from how frustrating and annoying it is for every other player when a quickscoper who has crosshairs taped to his TV screen can Left-Trigger, Right-Trigger before the scope is even fully visible on the screen. That's not how Snipers operate, and is not a fair way to play.
3] All quickscoping kills are cheap. You're firing your bullet, getting your one-shot-kill while the screen is still BLACK from pulling up your sights. You're leveraging Aim Assist and the fact that the bullet will travel perfectly straight upon sighting in with a Sniper Rifle to get a laser-accurate, One-Shot-Kill. It's an exploit.
4] It requires timing, that's for sure - but it does not require aim. When considering the impact Aim Assist, and taping crosshairs on a TV monitor have on Quickscoping.
When I called Quickscoping "cheap" I wasn't saying that because I can't do it. I know I can't do it, presently. If I practiced enough, however, I could be just as lethal as anybody with it. But that's specifically what we do not want this game to become. A Quickscoper cannot hide behind a "well everyone can do it if they try hard enough" argument. Then the entire game would consist of people running around hopping with sniper rifles in their hand.
I know not all Quickscopers do it to be cheap. Some do it because they find it fun, or want the cool montage. But there are plenty of other cool things to make montages of, that do not negatively influence the ecosystem in such a resounding way. Think of it like this: for every one Quickscoper, there's an entire team of angry players who find it annoying. "Cheap" is just another synonym often used to describe this frustration. It's unreasonable to ask them to "suck it up" just so this tiny community of quickscopers (by comparison to the global community of players) can have their fun.
It doesn't matter if a team of non-Quickscopers will beat a team of Quickscopers every time. I bet my team could beat a team of Quickscopers, no problem. But it wouldn't change the fact that we'd be gritting our teeth in frustration the entire match, which is something as developers we do not want to see.

People care about K/D that much huh?
The part about tomahawks and RC cars cracked me up. :D
But yeah, it's pretty obvious that SMGs and ARs are gonna dominate and nobody will probably even touch shotties. Well, except for maybe really small maps.
I agree with all of his points except for 1.
Noob tubes are way more annoying and unfair than quickscopers. If they nerf quickscoping I seriously hope they take a look at tubes.
How hard would he grit his teeth vs a team of tubers? It doesn't matter if a team of non-Quickscopers will beat a team of Quickscopers every time. I bet my team could beat a team of Quickscopers, no problem. But it wouldn't change the fact that we'd be gritting our teeth in frustration the entire match, which is something as developers we do not want to see.
Well they sort of have, no OMA and scavenger doesn't give back tube ammo I Believe.
Yeah, that's pretty cool.. but in team games the guy can just die and since this JD2020 guy doesn't care about the K: D's of OP tactics the tubers still can have basically infinity tubes. And in S/D, which is all I play, 2 tubes goes a hell of a lot farther when the team has 6 lives than if they have like 100(idk, making a large number up).
Honestly, with what they're doing with quickscoping I'd be happy if they nerfed tubes into throwing knife status. But that'd be taking another dimension away from CoD and I'm not sure what it'd do to the game. Do I really want only SMGs/ARs in my games? Makes it boring imo. But if quickscoping's getting removed then why not tubing too..
Because explosives are fun.
I've been using a grenade launcher with a SOH, CB, SitRep (all pro) build. I only use the launcher when there's a car or I know someone is camping a room.
Sometimes I get crazy and throw a semtex in the room.

Little-Known Facts: Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer for PS3
Hello! I’m Josh Olin (aka JD_2020), and thank you for the opportunity to highlight some of the features that Call of Duty: Black Ops will deliver to PS3 fans when it launches on November 9th. A number of these features are ones that I think the community has been wanting for a long time, which is why we’ve worked really hard to deliver. So let’s get started!
Multiplayer Online Split-Screen Support
Let’s get started with what I believe is the most unknown, yet confirmed, aspect to Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer – the online split-screen support we’ve re-introduced to the franchise!
The Facts:
* You can connect a second controller and bring a guest online (i.e. “JD_2020” & “JD_2020(1)”).
* Guests can rank up, earn unlocks, etc – all guest progress goes away once signed out.
* You can bring a second, full PSN account online!
* Both players with full PSN ID’s can rank up while playing together in split-screen, as if on two separate consoles.
Custom Games Editor
Allow me to introduce the Black Ops Custom Games Editor! Private matches have never been this customizable. Players will have the ability to structure their games at all new levels of granularity. From variables as simple as Time Limit and Score Limit, or as deep as which weapons, Perks, and gear are available. You want a Pistols Only match? Make one! No longer do custom game modes rely on the “honor system.”
Furthermore, any Custom Game you create and configure can be placed in your File Share, for friends and the community to browse, download, and enjoy. You just might create the most addictive new game mode of all time from the comfort of your own living room!
In-Game Friends List
We’ve integrated a built-in Friends List into the in game user interface. You’ll be able to browse Recent Players, Friends, navigate their File Shares, Recent Games, Combat Records – all within this in-game menu system designed to streamline the social process within the game. Sending game invites and joining Friends’ games has never been simpler than in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Regional Matchmaking & Party Privacy
Call of Duty: Black Ops will support regional matchmaking filters on a global scale. So, no matter where you’re at in the world, you will have the ability to specify whether you want to match with players from other geographical regions, or only those local to you. This will make communication and lag a much less intrusive variable on your gameplay experience.
Additionally, given Black Ops will support joining games in progress via an even simpler built-in in-game Friends List interface, we’ll allow a Party leader to lock down his lobby to Invite Only, Friends Only, or even Close it altogether if he wants to be in complete control over who enters and exits the Party Lobby.
Emblems Do NOT Reset with Prestige
This one is pretty cut-and-dried. A frequently asked question is, “Will my kickass emblem I spent hours perfecting be lost when I prestige?” The answer is “NO!” Emblems are one of the only aspects of Black Ops MP that do not get a full reset upon entering Prestige. Things that will reset when you Prestige are: XP, COD Points, Challenge progressions, Loadouts, and so forth.
So that’s just a few of the lesser-known components to Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer, confirmed for the first time here on the official PlayStation.Blog! For more information regarding Black Ops, and all the new features included in multiplayer, head over to our official YouTube channel and watch all the different trailers we have highlighted from the game. Additionally, you can follow me on Twitter (@JD_2020) for more news and updates.
K/D doesn't mean anything but a majority of the community think it's the end-all, be-all stat
I think it is somewhat overrated as a stat, but in some game types it is important. You can get twice as many kills as the other members of your team, but if you die more than you kill, your net contribution to the match (assuming its just a kill for points kinda game, not objective) is a penalty, and not a boon.
Singular: Gametype. AKA TDM.
Well, S/D too kind of. If you die you.. can't play.
HQ: None stop explosion fuck fest.
Uhh but yah, people with high KDR and just play Domination need to kill themselves in RL.
so wheres the mass leak coming from?
