I thought the same thing before replacing my G1. Now I actually prefer the virtual keyboard on HTC sense UI

i love my Moto Droid but moving to the Samsung Galaxy S if it ever comes out!!!
but Verizon fucking owns ATT in the ass
(former Iphonefag)
So my current contract thing or whatever for my phone ends in September, and I'm under my family's plan on Sprint, just looked up a ton of stuff on this HTC Evo, and holy shit, do fucking want, I'm so getting one as soon as I can :D
Go for EVO. When 2.2 actually drops in a few months, it also offers full flash support, something the iPhone will never have.
but what am i supposed to do in the month gap of no phone/contract? I can't be like oh verizon hang on for one more month, and i dont think i can just get a bs phone with sprint and then upgrade after one month![]()
oh true, so i guess I can continue using my current phone for just one extra month and not renew the contract, till evo comes
Some possible bad news, if true sprints just trying to find a way to give people reasons not to buy the EVO.

Another thing to considered that the Blazing 4g speed won't be so blazing once more and more people hop on the network.
If it's going to cost extra money/a new plan, well, fuck, looks like I wont be getting one.
yup if it cost more, i wont either. gonna go buy HTC incredible instead
3rded
Not to be a total fanboy, but since when do you buy a phone and keep it locked up? Jailbroken, the iPhone can tether without charge, run 3rd party apps, and a multitude of other things (practically open to anything). Even Unjailbroken, you can still make FREE ringtones, AND it has a great camera (video 45-60 fps), not to mention the 4th gen iPhone will have even more hardware to back it up.
Enjoy your battery dropping.... flash drains so much its not even funny. I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have it on my iPhone. You can definitely live without it (and it makes browsing much faster).
Side note: if HTML5 takes off fast enough (it should if microsoft and google and apple all back it), flash will be completely obsolete.
A word on networks: Sprint's 4G network is spotty at best. They cant support the nation on 4G, so you get bumped down. Have fun at their slow speeds. If they had 4G everywhere.... i would say Sprint all the way. But the dropped calls mixed with spotty service really kills them.
Overall: I would say the new iPhone when it comes out, because even if it cant do everything EXACTLY how the EVO does it, it's still on a MUCH better network, and its still an absolutely amazing piece of technology.
I meant coverage.... sorry. I travel around the detroit metropolitan area a lot and could never get a consistent network with sprint (low signal, dropped network etc.). Whereas with ATT, I get full 3G anywhere I go. Not to mention they are continuing to add more towers and upgrade the network for more iPhone users come this summer
My 3g speeds on sprint are much higher than verizons tested speeds. Sucks to live where you live with sprint (even though the map shows you should have great coverage), but don't try to declare everywhere has shitty coverage. I've never had a dropped call, and my 3g speeds are fast as hell. I'm about 40 miles south of Houston. Don't know if you have tried a different phone, but they do vary a lot with connectivity (sup nexusone).

^ sprint (orange 3g, dark grey Roaming 3g, light grey data roaming limited services)
What makes print great is the fact even if it does not have coverage, it does roaming at no extra charge.
Apple fanboy detected.
I have a jailbroken itouch, it sucks and I hate it, eagerly awaiting to try out an android phone. Maybe it will suck too? but I kinda doubt it.
