Been on okc like 7 months, usually get at least 1-2 messages from girls out of the blue a month. If you're not getting anything make your profile more interesting and get some better pictures. Ask a girl you know to look it over and help you rewrite it.

I used to get 1-2 messages a month from fat chicks (lately they just seem to stalk my profile) , I've gotten maybe ~4 in 10 months from chicks I'm attracted to, and I have something in a 30-40% response rate to my messages so the website/my profile seem to be okay, it's really most dependent on your geographic location I think. The site constantly feeds me profiles of girls in Boston/Providence/Five Colleges area of MA that are like 99% compatible with me, but obviously driving ~1.5-2.5hrs is kind of a big deal and most of the girls in my area are either attractive and have nothing in common with me or fatties who love all the same stuff I do.

Since I've posted this thread I've yet to make any advances towards online dating, nice to see people still making updates to it though! Reason is because not long after I posted the thread, 2 potentials arrived in the scene (a couple of months back), between that time before and the time I posted thread I was busy with career so... -- will want to try it I think to see what kinda people I rack up, haha. ZarakiKujata's experiences seems to be the most realistic so far as to what I expect, hehe!

I've no idea how effective they are, but www.geeksdreamgirl.com offers "coaching" for online dating, from the very basic concepts of dos and don'ts on your profile all the way to writing one for you. It'll cost you but it's an option if you really want to find someone in the medium and feel like your profile may be hurting your chances, or just aren't sure if it's as good as it could be.

Semi offtopic but have you guys had encounters on okc w/ ppl you know irl? I've seen at least 5 girls on here that I have seen on campus. 4 other girls w/ active profiles that I'm friends with IRL (including one who was my prom date in HS lol). After I messaged one girl I realized she and I had just had a class together the previous semester, and a girl in my last quiver is in one of my classes atm as well..

I've only seen one girl on there that I know irl, and the reason I know her is because she's one of my girlfriend's friend (I met my girlfriend on OKC). So I don't think that counts. I've seen plenty of people I know on match.com though.

Having profiles up on 3 different sites, each written a different way and pretty much getting nothing, I'll just say that if you live in the middle of nowhere, don't bother throwing your money at these things (I haven't). People who live in bigger cities will probably have more luck, and I'd probably draw a line with distance in having to drive over 30 miles to see someone unless she was like a motherfucking goddess who had a hot lady friend looking to three-way. Hell, I think Woozie would be closer to me than a lot of the girls I see listed. Probably more attractive, too. No homo.

Yeah, the area around here is kinda bad if you aren't willing to drive a bit. Most of the women I met there were at least 45 minutes to an hour away. The girl I'm with now is an hour drive, and two of the other women I met from OKC were in PA. PoF seems to have more local people.

You'd think with Cleveland being only 30 minutes from here that I would have found more people within a 30 minute drive. I think I only met two people who were very close. One of them lives only 10 minutes away and works right around the corner from my apartments and the other lived in Canton (she actually transferred to my school but we don't really keep in touch anymore).

edit: Doesn't that have more to do with being more desirable to women at an older age? one of the oktrends articles had 26+ as the cutoff where women get more desperate then men. Men don't hit their prime in terms of appeal to women until 26+ according to okc.
