I don't know what you guys are doing to be so successful...I've had my account about six months and I've gone months without a message, gotten a blind message that had no response after my reply (when my identity is revealed), or gotten a message from someone in whom I'm not interested. Is the key to answer more questions/fill out your profile more, or what?

Nothing at all, in my case. Like I said, I'm not even trying to date right now, but I just keep getting messages.

Honestly, I think it's the guitar/piano pics, plus the nieces in my pics that get the women's attention. Most of the messages I get reference these, and EVERY message I've gotten has referenced my academic goals and accomplishments. Apparently women love scientist. Actually, it's the ambition they like, and not the specific degree I'm trying to get, but the fact that what I'm trying to do is perceived as "difficult" helps. Based on my messages, I'd say this is the biggest factor that gets me messaged.

It could also just be a matter of location. If you can't do anything about your location, then I suggest you start working on a masters in mathematics and teach yourself quantum field theory.

Of course, you don't want to be more like me unless you like the friend zone.

I have, though I typically get no response or a disinterested one. Though to be fair, there aren't too many prospects from which to choose when you're looking in South Jersey or the ugliest city in America three years running.

As a male you're going to get disproportionately less messages than a woman, it's no different than RL, they expect you to chase THEM.

You really have to be in the top tier of dudes for attractive women to message you unprovoked with any consistency, and from experience in the past, you don't want those girls anyways, they're insane, every...single...one.

You can turn IM on and off under settings.

So there is, didnt see that. Damn, now I feel like i'll miss a potentially good IM. Filters may be good too, but there may always be that one outlier.. Shrug, guess ill just leave it as is.

By the way do you know how often the vistors list counts a visit?
IE: I visit a page, then leave, but want to check it again rq cuse I thought I missread something, and then check it again like an hour later because I forget I already loooked at the profile.
Would that show up on their vistors list 3 times? Thats hella creepy.
