Wireless Problems

My laptop seems to have suddenly stopped detecting wireless signals. (Wi-Fi switch is on ) This morning I turn it on to find everything had magically been fixed, only to come home and find it's in the same state again. =/

I've tried restoring my laptop to a few days back before any problems, but that has no effect. The message currently says 'This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured'. I've tried looking for driver updates but it says I already have the latest version.

It may suddenly fix itself again tomorrow morning like it did today, but for now I'm having to plug in if I want to use the Internet. Any solutions anybody?

Any other devices on your wireless network? If so, any trouble with those?

Some laptops have sneaky touch buttons, you'll need to see if you've touched it by accident and turned it off. Happened to me a few times before I figured out what the hell was happening.

Turned it on this morning, still not detecting any wireless devices.

HP Pavillion tx1000 Notebook (It's a few years old now)
Windows Vista
Usually on AC power when I'm at home

I think it's my laptop that's the problem, because my hostdad's laptop is connecting fine, my ipod touch is connecting fine too.
I'll check to see if there's any hidden touch buttons that control the Wi-Fi, but the main Wi-Fi switch is definitely on.

Did you try turning the switch to off, giving it a few minutes then re-switching it back on? Sometimes on older technology switches tend to get faulty, especially when used/abused a lot and can miss the connector inside of the device, also frantically switching the device on and off can do more damage then fix, if worst comes of it, if its under warranty still, send it in and get it fixed.
