Natalie Portman is a girl.
Touche
Keira Knightley was great in this movie, loved her.
Saw this on Wednesday and loved it. Everyone was cast well (and acted well enough), the set design was lovely to look at, the costumes were cooler than I thought they would be and the story was pretty engaging (though not spectacular, but who cares). I thought the action scenes were a bit messy for Thor, but it was kinda hard to see with the 3D and the stupid glasses. I wanna watch it again 2D just so I can enjoy the faster paced parts.
Heimdall is a fucking badass too, is the actor the same guy from The Wire?
Yes.
I saw it in 2D today, don't think 3D was necessary.
I basically agree with most of this page; much better than I expected, not as good as Iron Man, and my only wish was that:

Loved the references to all the other Avengers in here. "That one of Stark's?" and when Stellan Skarsgård made the Bruce Banner reference, and the Hawkeye cameo was brilliant.
I thought the post-credit scene was the weakest so far though, but it was nice to see it confirmed that

is going to show up in the Avengers, since I don't stalk IMDB enough to remember that shit.![]()

I NEED SUSTENANCE!!
Movie was fucking bad ass lol. My favorite part was where he smashes the mug on the floor and yells out "ANOTHER!"

Too much to list, Marvel did well starting out this year. I just hope X-Men doesn't take a huge shit on the company like the previous movies did.
here you go!

Created by the Skrulls hmmm... fits in with the Loki/Skrulls as Avengers movie villains
that wiki page also says it was probably shown in Stark's father's notes in iron man 2.
They did a good job with the villain, Loki, he didn't feel like an exaggerated "I want to take over the world" sort of villain.
Goddamn this movie was great! Just got back in with a buddy. He wasn't expecting much (he's a harsh critic) and he was more impressed than I was. I geeked out so many times during this movie. Would definitely see again. We saw it for free in Imax 3D. The 3D did absolutely nothing for the movie. So if you've got the choice, save yourself the extra money and see in 2D.
I'm a real sucker for supervilains that ultimately try to do good in a wrong way without being super evil for no apparent fucking reason. Fuck yeah Loki.
Was it me or did this movie have way too much fucking lens flare holy shit
Just got back from the film. Really enjoyed it.
I thought that the plot was very simple and quite opaque but it really worked for this movie. There wasn't anything too convoluted (other than, you know, the whole Asgard god thing). I think the simple plot was one of the movie's strengths. The action was excellent and the cinematography was extremely well done. The special effects and CGI were really, really nice. I completely lost myself in believing that stuff was real.
I saw it in 3D and thought it was the best 3D I've seen done in a movie since the whole 3D revival thing began.
I thought Chris Hemsworth was an excellent choice for Thor. Plus, he's amazing eye-candy. He didn't look nearly that nice when he was being Captain Kirk for 12 minutes and saving 800 people. Natalie Portman did well in her role as well. Very underplayed and the whole romantic subplot did not take over the storyline like it does in "Iron Man 2". Loki, Heimdall, and Odin were all very well done as well.
I liked all the little Marvel Universe Easter eggs throughout the film. Even I, someone who hasn't read Marvel comics since the mid-90s, was able to spot many of them. I like how all the Marvel movies have the whole S.H.I.E.L.D. thing tying them together.
I thought Thor's Asgardian friends were a bit left out of the main plot. They didn't quite fit into the story. I wasn't fond of Darcy either.
I'm looking forward to future films in this franchise and the upcoming Avengers tie-ins.
I think the way they're leading up to the Avengers movie is much better than how they dealt with the X-Men movies, which became a travesty after the first. I like this thing with doing the individual movies to introduce the characters then bringing them together again later. They can still do stand alone movies as well as the group films. They should have done that with the X-Men as well. Perhaps that is why they are rebooting the series with First Class.
