Iron Man and War Machine are my favorite marvel characters. Bar none.
So...yeah
The whole Samuel L. as Nick Fury in the movies stems from the Ultimate Marvel universe. They modeled Ultimate Fury after him with his permission, and once it came time to put him on screen, it was an easy fit since they already had someone who looked exactly like Nick Fury.
I mean really, it was that or the Hoff.

I would have been okay with Hoff playing Nick Fury, not gonna lie

An alcoholic, semi-competent Fury?

Sounds like one written by Garth Ennis.
Also someone recommend me a (preferably post silver-age, non-crossover) book with Thor as a central character that's very very good.
For you Hoff as Fury fans, you're in luck

lol David Goyer is the writer... guess the success of Batman flicks is more on the Nolan writers and not coming from him.
Recent Thor series with JMS writing and Copiel on art was good.
Available in convienent Omnibus form - http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Tho...tm=5&USRI=thor
Also, despite being written by Matt Fraction, Ages of Thunder was solid as well

The Dan Jurgens fronted series post Heroes Reborn (late 90s/early 2000s) was hit or miss for alot of people, but I personally enjoyed it.

And about the Hoff Fury movie, I haven't seen it and I'm not sure I wanna. On the one hand, it's the Hoff! But on the other hand, it has "cheesy b-movie" written all over it. I guess morbid curiosity will win at the end.
Oh, it was definitely cheesy B-movie. I was a Fox made-for-TV flick, and was ridiculously over-the-top. Think 60's Batman, but grittier.
Doesn't change the fact that The Hoff was a dope Fury, though.
What happened at the end. I didn't stay to watch the 1 1/2 min in the theater but watched it on youtube. Not quite sure what was happening.
Spoiler: show
The Hoff as Fury, Bad Mothafucka was Fury...
.. doesn't matter, because in the end, we all win.
Anyone watch Thor: Tales of Asgard that came out today? wondering if it's any good.
Probably going to pick it up tonight at the store.
