Where did I hate on black actors playing comic book characters? I said it would be stupid to cast a black actor to play a standard white role. The norse gods are all white, because the people who made them up where....all white. That doesnt make them racist (even though i'm sure back in the day they would have flipped a shit seeing an african near Iceland).

The movie isn't based on tenth-century Norse myths. It's based on Marvel comics, and since Nick Fury no longer looks like David Hasselhof, they can make Heimdall whatever colour they like.

Also Jackson is playing ULTIMATE Nick Fury, the character that was made to be Jackson in a comic. The character was actually drawn to look exactly like Sam Jackson.
