I've been wanting to play this for a while now! The download is really slow right now, but it'll speed up as people begin to finish downloading. You'll have to download there torrent system MTX. It'll tell you what to do on the website.

Awesome and does anyone know how to get mechwarrior 3 and the expansion to work on XP? It won't run the disc at all.

My mechwarrior 3 ran just fine on my XP. Just check the site, there were so many solutions, everybody had a different problem. It would crash from time to time, but when I finished the trial/practice runs, it work just fine.

Does this include the original MW4, or just the Mercenaries version (with the two mech packs)? Can't find anywhere on the site that clarifies it.

Alright I got it installed but it won't let me play "Please insert disc 2". With the site being hammered to no end is there a fix for this yet?

Q: When does the free version release?
A: The free release is out now. Its version .00020

Q: Will I still need a MW:4 Disc to play?
A: NO, the major change in the "Free version" is the removal of the CD Protection, which if you use MTX to install is actually pretty useless since the only thing the CD is used for is the copy protection checks.

Q: Why am I getting an "Insert MW:4 disk 2 error"
A: You do not have the free version yet, the free release is .00020. Until you get version 20 or above, the CD copy protection is still active, and you can not play without a working MW:4 disk 2

Under MTX you have to click on MW4 Mercs and update the game till you get to version .00020, Once you get the game downloaded you'll be at 00017. So you'll have to update 3 times to get the free version, that'll stop the insert disc 2 into your drive. Enjoy
