I lived in Hyde Park/ Poughkeepsie area, about 20-30 mins south of kingston, while I was going to school. My studio apartment, like 300 square feet, was 700 a month, everything included.
Yeah main street is the fucking ghetto man. My fiance's sister had an apartment right off Broadway in Kingston for a year or so. It's pretty bad.
As most places, it gets better the farther away from Broadway you get. I actually like most of the area up there, it's just the drive up the Thruway is so fucking boring.
Id also note that Franklin Street near Broadway isnt pleasant either.
Ooo and FWIW I did end up going to Truman's Saturday. I just made sure I was high as fuck before I got there.
It was still as bad as I thought it would be (it also happened to be Jersey Shore Night..), but now I don't have to hear my friend bitching for a month that I didn't go to his "birthday party".
