Hell, political instability? Just look at what happened to venezuela. There was such a dramatic wealth disparity. You were either wealthy or shoveled dirt.

We all know how that turned out, right?

Actually, come to think of it. Similar situations happened all over S.America and Asia within the last 10-15 years. You think the curvature is happening because all the guys with the bucks are fleeing to U.S. Golden A?

*bump* Slighty related news today.. "Audit the Fed" Amendment written by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) passes 96-0

Whoda thunk all those Republicans would actually support an idea proposed by an actual self-proclaimed Socialist..

The bad rep the Federal Reserve gets is really undeserving. I worked at the Fed, and it acts the backbone of the entire financial system, responsible for check clearing, bank lending and other important functions. Nobody gives the Fed credits for stuff that it does right because of ignorance -- most people don't know what the Fed's daily responsibilities are. Look at this way, the Fed is an entity similar to the combination of a fire department and an advisory board. It issues guidelines on building codes to minimize the possibility of a fire and when fire does happen, it will come to put it out. It's not an omnipotent organization that precludes all ills in the financial markets. Blaming the Fed for financial crises is like blaming the fire department for fires. Its limited power is used to stabilize interest rates and unemployment and is definitely accountable to congress. Most high ranking executive working in the Fed are from academia and not from the private sector. There's no secret agenda to blow up the economy or rip the american people off. It's a collection of armchair economists deliberating on how best to promote full potential GDP and full employment via open market operations and adjustments to the fed funds rate.

It is, in America there are many things to buy, and this is the definition of freedom.

fixed a bit, and obviously there is a lot more to "freedom" than that, but those are both very important.

    I gotta be free
    Free as the wind
    Free as the way
    I gotta be
    Maybe I'm lost
    Maybe I've sinned
    I gotta be totally free
    Our parents don't love us
    Our teachers they say
    Things that are boring
    So were running away
    And we will be free
    And people will see
    That when we are free
Thats the way we should be
    We must be free
We must be free as the wind
    We were free well
    when we were born
We were born free but now
    We are not free anymore
    But we wanna be free
    And were gonna be free
    So we wanna be free
    And were gonna be free

    Did you know that:

    Free is when you don't
    Have to pay for nothing
    Or do nothing
    We want to be free
    Free is when you don't
    Have to pay for nothing
    Or do nothing
    We want to be free
    Free is when you don't
    Have to pay for nothing
    Or do nothing
    We want to be free
    Free is when you don't
    Have to pay for nothing
    Or do nothing
    We want to be free

No, not work, that is what credit is for. Only buying is freedom.

I thought the American dream was "the middle class gets richer and richer, doing easier and easier jobs. The rich make the vast majority of the progress, and are rewarded with the freedom to pay the people below them more for continuing to do the exact same, or easier, jobs."
