Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (XBLA/PSN)

It started as a trademark filing, got revealed through a slew of leaked details, and now it's evidently confirmed by an Australian rating: The OFLC has given Castlevania: Harmony of Despair an "M" rating and lists it for the "Xbox," just about making the title official.

Of course, Konami themselves haven't made the game official yet, but at this point it looks like that's just a formality waiting to happen. Along with this new rating, tons of details on the unannounced game leaked earlier this month, including that it'll be released through Xbox Live Arcade, feature HD visuals (but with reused sprites of classic Castlevania characters), and feature a six-player multiplayer option. There were even a number of leaked screenshots for the game, including the title screen above.

So all in all, yes, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is more than likely real and on its way. We'll see if Konami finally makes the game official (and reveals a release date) at E3 in a couple of weeks.

If this is only for 360, I will redefine RAGE.

why the fuck would I spend 700 on systems when I have a ~2,000 PC with a PS3 or 360 ~_~ I have all of them myself but that is just me and I get why most would not.

just make a port for whatever systems you do not build for.

i understand completely why people wouldn't have more than one system for financial reasons, i also have every system and i'm not rich, so i know this hobby isn't cheap. it just seems stupid to me for people to get so angry about something possibly being an exclusive, when a good majority of the best games the past few years are.... exclusives. for all 3 systems.

There's NO reason for a Castlevania game to be fucking exclusive. None whatsoever.

This isn't some flagship series that debuted on a particular console. This isn't Halo, Mario, Gears of War, or Gran Turismo.

Something -this- epic needs to be shared by the masses, and distributed TO the masses. Alucard is the shit - C:SotN is one of the greatest games I've ever played, and I've played thousands.

Pretty much those answers. It's not because I can not afford it, it's because I don't want it.

I was turned off to 360 after all the RROD crap, which to this day, I find inexcusable. Also, there are very few games I would even play on the 360 that I can't play on my PC and PS3 (probably Fable, Alan Wake and maybe 1 or 2 others... I despise Halo, the 360's glory). Castlevania is not some technical powerhouse that needs to be developed exclusively and it's not a 1st-party studio, so I don't see any reason for this, if it is true (which it very well may not be, but the idea of it still sucks).

We have a Wii in the house also, but lolWii, I didn't buy it and I don't play it. As for fucking Hitler, duh, that's a no-brainer. Don't act like you wouldn't.

Edit: Did I mention this is only a problem because I fucking love Castlevania? Yeah, most other franchises wouldn't get me into a nerd-rage over them.

It isn't all about being a fanboy, its that putting something like this on one console, is fucking retarded. Besides, there isn't any more info worth it to discuss at the time anyway. There are like 50 Castlevania games, and the majority of them are all the fucking same, so this piece of info is the one that sticks out the most. Its not a reinvention or anything spectacular we haven't seen in the past 12 years.
