God of War: Ghost of Sparta is headed to the Playstation Portable later this year and the best part, it's being developed by the folks who made the first, fantastic God of War PSP title.

The title will be a collaborative effort between Ready at Dawn, who developed God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica Studio.

"Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-time high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytime, anywhere."

Set in the realm of Greek mythology, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game that has players once more taking on the role of Spartan warrior Kratos. This new adventure picks up after the original God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos' ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his tattoo, scar and family. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, he will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes throughout his merciless quest.

The developers say they have "made significant strides to give players a realistic feel that has never been seen before on PSP or any other portable platform." The game showcases higher quality environments and characters, giving an unmistakable realism to Kratos' newest quest, they say.

The game will have more than 25 percent more gameplay than God of War: Chains of Olympus, according to the release.

The game will also have a new weapon system, new magical powers, weapons and navigational abilities, many more enemies on screen, and a greater number of boss encounters, truly bringing the experience to life, all while on the go.

People said the same thing about the first God of War Ready @ Dawn made for PSP. It's likely running off the same engine which can scale all the way up to 1080p while still running off the PSP hardware, which is probably what those SS were made at, then scaled down to the PSPs native resolution in Photoshop or whatever, which gives the AA effect.

Sweetness, I really enjoyed GOW:COO. I figured it was going to be really short but it was a well fleshed out game, I'm happy to see GOS will be 25% over COO! Day 1 buy for sure.

Eh I like KH's even if they are far to easy. I find them fun and a nice break from some of the other games, whats so bad about the game?

Edit: I had this fight way back, why do people give the DS so much hell? Its far better with RPGs then the PSP. I own a lot more PSP games yes, but the RPGs rock on the DS. Me and a few others made people think twice about the system, it has a lot of gems(to go along with the crap)

I could go into a big explanation but I really dont care enough. The hand held has alot of problems that nintendo has, milking the shit out of shovelware and gimmicks. Wether it be motion controls or a stylus. I find it hard to take a platform serious when it has games like nintendogs or cooking mama. But hey, they can just tweek it a bit every year and sell 20 or so million, why actually improve the hand held.

Also, Kingdom Hearts was just not a good game in my opinion, didnt like the story at all.

Wont get into a fight, but I do see what you mean. The large number of games I have fun with are remakes of old NES games; and as such tend to not use the touch screen. I am playing CT right now, and it does use it if you want(and I do), in fact it is only used for like using potions and making a change to gear. The second screen is your menu and its great to click it at any time ~_~

But you are very right for most new games. Will not fight you on that. Still because of the great remakes I like the system very much. If it makes you happy I bought mine used from gamestop for $80, so they ddi not make any money from me ~_~
