why is this tiger woods so damn hard at the start. My guy can barely reach the fairway on his drives.
Zenonia on sale for a buck currently. Nabbing it since I was curious about it for awhile now. Wanted to get it off PSN for my PS3/PSP, but then I read about it having horrid performance for some fucked up reason, which is a jip since it costs 3x as much as the iPhone release under normal pricing.
I have it for my droid, it's the game that pretty much started the KRPG craze on mobile devices. There are better ones these days, but it'll definitely keep you busy for a while
Also Asphalt 6 (both normal & HD fer iPad) on sale for a buck. Picked it up also even though #5 ran like shit on my 1st gen Touch. >.>
Stupid impulse purchases, hard to say no to a dollar when something has any sign of a slight interest.
World of Goo also up finally on iPhone, buck also. Not sure how well that'd play on such a small screen though. Game looked perfectly fit for iPad though, probably the easiest version to do speed runs on thanks to the multi-touch support.
if you've already played it, I would wait until the HD version goes back on sale because that version is universal. The iphone version (which is currently on sale for a dollar) is optimized for retina displays but won't look as good on the ipad
Was Mirror's Edge always a buck? I picked it up regardless, and not regretting it so far. Great transition of the franchise to a touch-based system. Much more to it than a lot of those automated-running platformers.
Got any recommendations for action RPGs like Zenonia then? I nabbed Illusia also a few moments ago as it looked like my cup of tea.
What I would love is NBA Jam to have a buck sale, or at least to hurry up on the DLC version of it for XBLA/PSN.
wild frontier might still be free
Square Enix's new original game teaser site for iphone/ipad/andriod
http://dlgames.square-enix.com/imr/en/
Besides the picture and whos working on it if you look at the source on the page you can see the characters names, Cid and Shera
Also Chrono Trigger iOS site which was unveiled in december got a update with a date on it. 2011.4.25
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/mobile/sem/chronotrigger/
Its probable going to be info and a release date rather than being the actual release date.
Sword & Sworcery out for iPhone/Touch now, with the iPad version now being universal at $2 more.
Disappointed my 1G Touch isn't supported though. The game needs iOS 3.2 or later, and 1G got dropped by Apple after iOS 3.1.3. -.-
Whoa.. I had no idea about chrono trigger. Would love this on my iphone. Maybe there is hope for Chrono Cross also.
related to iphone games. I finally got around to beating MGS touch. And while it can be cheap at times and its pointless to get it for the story, it's a solid shooter and I enjoyed it. Some of the bosses can be fuckin hard though. I had a lot of trouble w/the snow area boss (blanking on name) and I didn't beat her until I got lucky w/ the "area" selection as she decided to stay in the easiest area for a while and gave me a chance to kick her ass lol.
you can pretty much guarantee that Chrono Trigger for iphone will be like 13-15 bucks, then they'll release an ipad version a few weeks later for 15-17FF3 for ipad just came out for a dollar more than the iphone version this week lol
Anyone ever play Battleheart? It's supposed to be a really neat party-based RPG-type game, but I can't convince myself to sink 3 bucks into it. Should I get it?
Also after deftly avoiding farmville on facebook I have somehow gotten hooked on Trade Nations AND Smurf Village (lol). Trying to see how far I can get since I refuse to spend real money on them, how is a game you can only play 5-10 mins a day so addictive?
I got it for $.99 and was pretty fun. Are 30 missions (if I recall correctly, and also 3 endless modes), have to grind some here and there to advance, but never seemed annoying as I really liked the mechanics. Pretty easy to control, actually really like how it controls. With the number of classes, if you really get into it, can play though it twice using completely different classes. As you level up, every 5 levels you get to choose an ability from something like a skilltree, which you can change at any time between missions. Gear isn't to difficult to keep up on... rarely did I have money issues.
Is it worth $3? Probably. I sank quite a bit of time into it after I had surgery a few weeks ago, but my only worry is they haven't updated it with more content since it was release and I no longer have it on my iPod, just at one point, not much else to do.
ok cool that's exactly what I needed to hear. I'll probably pick it up after I finish dungeon hunter, even if it's not on sale. I love how there are so many different classes, seems like it's something I'd love to grind if the battles are fun. Thanks!
Oh nice, both Dead Space AND Dead Space for iPad are both 99 cents. If you don't have this game you should absolutely get it for a dollar, it's fucking great
edit: actually, looks like a bunch of their games are on sale for 99 cents (some of these might be regular price though)
iPad
Scrabble
Boggle
Reckless Racing HD
Max and the Magic Marker
Command and Conquer Red Alert
Risk
iPhone
Mirror's Edge
Tetris
Monopoly (and pretty much all their board games)
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Ultimate Mortal Kombat
NBA Jam
SimCity Deluxe
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Dead Space
Max & The Magic Marker
There's actually more but I'm not sure what's 99 cents regular price, but you should check out the developer page on iTunes if you're interested I guess. Dead Space is a steal at 99 cents and Mirror's Edge (too bad the HD version isn't on sale too) is a pretty gorgeous endless runner. Max & The Magic Marker is a lot of fun too, if you're into physics platformers, although it's available for PC and Wiiware too.
Zenonia 2 has dropped to 99c, didn't the first one go on sale recently too? I know the first is supposed to be the one of the best KRPGs on the iphone, dunno how the 2nd one stacks up but the reviews seem good.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zenon...364597916?mt=8
edit: yeah, the first one is still 99 cents too. Zenonia 3 comes out on 4/28 so they'll probably go off sale around then, I guess
Damn, I paid $5 for Dead Space a week and a half back because it was on sale *then* also. Anyways, finally nabbed me NBA Jam.
Is Zenonia 2 less grindy than the first? I'm pretty much done with the first game after I realized I unintentionally took the 'evil' path, and that every mob my level takes 20+ strikes to die, which is getting extremely tedious. I'm only 5 hours into the game also. ;/
pretty much all the korean RPGs are like that, lots of grinding and incremental progress, tons of "collect x monster drop" quests. There's a lite version IIRC...
'eh, I'll pass then. It's one thing to grind, but it's another when the mobs you grind take forever to kill also. Picked up Hot Pursuit instead.
speaking of KRPGs, Caligo Chaser has dropped to free. Pretty good game, I already have it on my droid
