This seems to be a common feature of sociology professors.

I took intro to soc just for credits, and the professor had us reading a book that literally said, in all seriousness, that people who hire maids are bad people because doing so means you think poor people should have to clean up after you.

Paradoxically, the book also said that people who work for cigarette factories are directly responsible for the deaths of cigarette smokers, but it's poor people who work those factories so...idk

College is fucking stupid in that they require you to take pointless classes(relative to your career) but they get real specific about which pointless classes you can take.

My sociology teacher insisted that all things are born exactly the same and that it's strictly through environment only that you end up being different.

I tried to bring up questions about animal instincts, and how certain things in survival are innate. Teacher didn't know how to respond to that outside of just insisting that instinct is taught.

I got a C in that class.

Fuck that noise. I fought my soc professor tooth and nail for 3 months, then wrote a letter to the dean complaining about how the whole class was just a platform for her political agenda. She's quitting for another teaching position elsewhere now. Probably one where the bylaws allow her to throw dissenting opinions out of the class.
