Random Facebook Drama / Hilarity (Warning: Long, and frustrating text blocks)

Haha, this Facebook conversation reminds me of one I had with my own second cousin when she posted that her six year old son had "accepted Jesus into his heart" and how proud that made her. First 12-13 comments were of people congratulating her.

Then I popped up asking if a six year old could even understand that and that it seemed awfully young to push religion onto a kid. Oh my god, the rage was hilarious. She tried all kinds of stuff, including saying that everything in the Bible was scientifically proven and that her King James' version was the true word of God because it was so old. I pointed out that King James lived only 400 years ago and Shakespeare helped translate it - she didn't even respond to that.

She basically raged for a couple of days, during which none of the 12 or so posters above helped her, while I ripped apart all her Born Again evangelical nonsense (by the way, thanks BG for the research) until I made an offhand comment about "Zombie Jesus" and she went totally ballistic. She said that did I think her father was a zombie because he was brought back to life by CPR once. To which I replied asking if God used CPR on Jesus to bring him back to life or was her father the second coming?

My family, outside of my parents and brother, refused to speak to me for months afterwards because I was so mean to her and an obvious bitch.

Later on another cousin was posting some Latin phrase and I translated it cause I did some Latin in university. He seemed like a cool dude and I thought I was just chatting with the guy but he went all rage on me because I was a "know-it-all who looked shit up on Wikipedia" and then he said that I was a bitch who argued with six year olds about their religion. I pointed out that I actually knew Latin, and that my other cousin was 36, not 6, and quite capable of defending herself. After that he realised what a douche he was being and apologised (although by PM instead of on the wall). His mother actually called my mother to complain about me and tell her that I was being really rude. He was 28 and I was 34.

Facebook is genius for pissing off relatives, eh? I love posting anti-religion links and stuff because of all my Born Again relatives and the way it totally pisses them off. I have some screnshots saved on my other computer, I'll have to look for them.

Well, I am indeed a grammar nazi. But mainly because it's interesting that someone from a foreign country where English is not the official language, e.g. me, writes less mistakes than people who speak, read and ideally write it every day.

The U.S. currently has no declared official language. Just sayin'. The 'your' and 'you're' misuse annoys me as well, but your just being a dick, now stop ruining the thread.

That reminds me, there are some issues at the moment with budget, but they are trying to make an Anchorman 2 and Zoolander 2, according to IGN. Who knows if we will ever see them though.
