An exploitable mess of a card game
Rents and Keeps
Once I get some free time, I'm looking to try out and buy some new games. The list of "hot" games for the PS3 I have listed are:
ACII
FFXIII
GoWIII
Heavy Rain
Are there any tips on which I should rent and which I should keep (Guessing FFXIII is a keeper for me though). Any order preferences?

Rent:
All 4 of those games.
But if you had to keep one I'd say FF13 or Heavy Rain.
GoWIII has nothing else to offer and neither does AC2

I'd say Heavy Rain and GoW3 will both take you around 10 hours to complete, a bit longer if you're going to see all the endings in HR or collecting everything/platinuming both. FF13 is probably 40 hours normally, but close to 90 if you're trying to 100% it. AC2 has a fair amount of content as well, you can breeze through the story in around 20 hours but to get/do everything will take you well over 40.

Following playtimes on said games:
Heavy Rain- 14hrs beat it twice and beat DLC did not try to platinum
GoW III - Haven't started yet
FFXIII- 80hrs still have about 30 more to go for platinum, main story took around 60
ACII- Loved this game have 31hrs clocked in and am at 95% complete just need another 30ish feathers I have been to lazy to go grab, beat all DLC for this as well.
So I would say rent Heavy Rain, and maybe GoW III if you don't plan on Plating it, XIII & ACII both definite buys.

People know how I am, I bought and own all of these, I like collecting games.
I loved all of these titles and I'm extremely happy with all of them.
Right now you can get FF XIII for 30 bucks at kmart, AC 2 is 30 bucks at Best Buy and GOW 3 is 50 at gamestop. No Heavy Rain sales currently.

I'm not unhappy with my decision to buy Heavy Rain at all, even if it was very short. I'd say buy it if only to support the creators of games such as Heavy Rain, despite the length of time it takes to beat it. Really, really need more games like it. Heavy Rain was also the main game that played a part in me deciding to buy a PS3, so I might be biased to begin with.

So it looks like in terms of "rentability":
[Rent]--HR---GoWIII-------ACII----------------FFXIII--[Buy]
I tried to get FFXIII from Kmart online, but they're sold out (And I'm tied as far as shopping around is concerned until later this week when the sale finishes).

And to clarify I bought and own all of those, but if money is an issue you have the right idea on rent/buy.

Heavy Rain is in a weird spot. If you just want to play it once to get 'the experience' of it, definitely rent it. But it's probably by far the most replayable of the games. It's one of the very few games where, after finishing it, I immediately started another replay. I can count the time's that's happened to me for other games on one hand.
If you have something like GameFly where you have unlimited time with the game, rent FFXIII. I completed every trophy except the 5-star all hunts and obtain every item in just under 2 weeks, and have no real desire to replay it anytime soon.
AC2 and GoW3, I didn't particularly care for either game, so I'd say rent. But obviously take that with a huge grain of salt.

It depends on how you play games. If you do one play for most games all but ffxiii are rents.
If you replay games all but gow are buys. Ac might still be a rent tho.
So 100% buy ffxiii unless you have 50 or so hours to blow at once. Heavy rain really depends so much on if you want to replay it, if you don't ; don't buy it. I have done 4 plays of the game, so about 25 hours logged thus far. Gow do not buy, I can't see myself replaying it ever, its a rent at least to me. Ac2 on the other hand is hard to pick what to do with. You can rent it and beat it, but it is a fun game you may wish to buy.

Banned.
Those are all rentals. Unless are trying to build a collection.

Heavy Rain you may want to rent just to see if you care for the "gameplay". Personally I would like it a lot more if it weren't dependent on QTEs.
