Laptop AC Adapter Help

My ac adapter for my laptop got messed up so I need a new one. Do i just match the input / output and watts? Would it also have to be compatible with the same model number?

Looking around the web to get the same adapter would cost about 50-60 bucks. Wondering If I can get the same but cheaper.

Just need to have the same pins and correct output ratings, I know chinese do make them for much cheaper.

But official is better.

My sister's ac adapter broke 2 weeks ago and I got her some no name branded one on ebay for $15 shipped. Works fine so far... Search your laptop model on ebay and something should pop up.

The one for my laptop broke a couple weeks ago. Just searched the model number on amazon, found a replacement for 30 bucks. Official one from Toshiba was $150. Works fine. If you don't wanna take chances with eBay, I'd say go with amazon. Almost the same price for the most part.

Ended up going the ebay way and found one that was compatible with my laptop. Much cheaper than the original one online at other stores.

Since I don't feel like making a new thread I will ask here.


To anyone that uses cooling fans for their laptops would you suggest a AC powered one or a USB one? My laptop is always at home so I never have to worry about carrying anything around.
