    Level 80 sub-jobs and you

    With the upcoming level cap increase, I'm sure a lot of people already worked on their lv.37 subjobs while others are about to.

    Now I was wondering if any foreseeing player has already spotted some brand new, interesting combinations, so I thought it'd be nice to have a dedicated topic to share ideas or any kind of subjob plans.

    For example, I'd take SMN/RDM as a given. But I was also wondering if /SCH could become a much better healing subjob than /WHM for "general purpose fights" and so on...

    /SCH already is better than /WHM for SMN.

    When I mentioned /SCH, I was referring to any job subbing for cure/support purposes, like RDM JpCOR BRD and so on...

    I am pretty much unaffected, not being a mage and all.
    So melees are quite unaffected by this sub-job cap raise? Honest question

    /NIN gets even better for DW jobs (90+), /WAR gets better for polearm SAM (90+), /SAM doesn't change but it's still the best thing going for two-hander DPS.

    /NIN gets Yonin, Innin, all Ni elemental ninjutsu, and another tier of Dual Wield (yonin/innin unlikely)
    /PLD gets Shell II and another tier of Resist Sleep (lol)
    /SAM gets Demon Killer (lol)
    /THF gets another tier of Resist Gravity (lol)
    /PUP gets another tier of Evasion Bonus (lol)
    /COR gets Evoker's Roll and Quick Draw (quick draw unlikely)
    /BLU gets Chain Affinity, Jet Stream, Uppercut, Blank Gaze, Mysterious Charge, and Terror Touch
    /DNC gets Reverse Flourish
    /DRK gets Absorb-INT, Bio II, and another tier of Resist Paralyze (lol)
    /BST gets Lizard Killer and another tier of Wide Scan (lol)
    /RNG gets Shadowbind, another tier of Resist Poison, and another tier of Wide Scan
    /WHM gets Haste, Teleport-Yhoat, Teleport-Altep, Barvira, Stona, Banishga II, Cura, Afflatus Solace and Afflatus Misery (afflatus unlikely)
    /BLM gets Fire II, Stonega II, and Warp II (awesome)
    /RDM gets Convert, Raise, Barvirus, Ice Spikes, Water II, and another tier of Magic Attack Bonus (awesome)
    /BRD gets Earth Carol, Battlefield Elegy, and Water Carol (lol)
    /SMN gets Crimson Howl, Sleepga, and another tier of Resist Slow (lol)
    /SCH gets Accession, Manifestation, Aero II, Erase, Shell II, another tier of Resist Silence


    Anything unlisted gets nothing other than some attributes and maybe a few combat skills...

    /dnc if you have access to reverse flourish(80), haste samba and no dnc main in pt (90)

    Well, on the topic of Lv.80 sub-jobs... Reverse Flourish sucks because DNC subs only get one finishing move for each Step. Nothing changing via 37>>>40 is going to make my melee jobs change their sub from what I already pick for the situations I pick them for.

    Did they say specifically somewhere that the first cap raise will be to 80? 75 to 99 is 24 levels in 3 updates. 8 levels each would be neat and tidy, while 5 for the first and then 19 amongst the next 2 is just odd.

    Did they say that it'll take 3 updates to get to 99?

    Random Predictions:
    1) If SAM doesn't get enough STP to make a 5-hit more reasonable, I see them losing ground against Monk and Ninja after the level cap.
    2) I see /NIN going back in style for WAR for multiple reasons, but it really comes down to what 1H multi-hit options we're given between here and 99. If we have a decent multi-hit, then it might be over for /SAM. All the better if the multi-hit is an axe. /NIN at 90 will offer a 14% larger DoT boost than /NIN at 89.
    3) Monk will be the best DD in the game. I predict this not because I have some knowledge of what SE will adjust, but because I predict they won't adjust Monk's H2H->DMG relationship. Monk is one of the only jobs whose DoT continued to appreciate noticeably post-50. For instance, treating them as statless weapons with set damage: Cross-counters DoT at 50 (10.46). Shenlong's DoT at 75 (18.46, no merits) DoT +80%. WAR gets Leucos Voulge +1 at 50 (9.81) vs. Perdu Voulge at 75 (11.43). The only reason 2H jobs remain competitive are XHit builds (well, and Hasso), which probably aren't going to improve for any job but SAM on the way to 99. If Sekka is SE's solution to this damage disparity, then 1H weapons will go back to being king.

    works for love sam/dnc because you sit on a lot of extraTP (loose too much other stat for a viable hit build +OAT procs), might work with new weapon/gears if you can get a 110TP build without loosing haste/acc/DA

    Unless they lower the level requirement, /SCH will still have 2 stratagem charges at 99, let alone 80.

    SE also said that pup would get an A+ skill in H2H, so the timings on when they will level cap are anyones' guess.
