ITT: Feeding the trolls is a good idea
im a pup, i still cant take myself seriously when i DD.
however, i do consider myself a DD when i outparse some mnks.
That pretty much covers it. You don't even need amazing gear to be honest, just be decently geared and know how to use it. Like playing aggressively and not tping while full timing AF2 hat and dual Archer's Knives.
There are great Cor's out there, it's the ones who think like this or gear as the equivalent to str ring Mnks that make the job look unimpressive.
Tbh, I wouldn't care about other Cor being gimp if it weren't for the mages who buy into the idea Cor can't deal dmg, and refuse to haste/erase/paralyna/blindna/etc me.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this. so many people ask me to go cor/whm because they think cor is fucking terrible when it comes to DDing. shits annoying.
I have 75 Rdm, I perfectly understand the priorities of a healer. Keep people alive and use support/enfeebling spells to speed up the kills.
With spell refresh, gear refresh, double ballad, and evokers, if you can't squeeze out the extra 40 mp every 3~ minutes you're doing it wrong.
So you understand that you would be bottom line of all enf removal and buffs? I would not really be concerned about the cor needs when you the 4th in line for any type of mage attention. I wouldn't refuse to haste a cor trying to DD but I'd prioritize almost if not all my duties before I do.
No, people go cor/whm because the job is still effective and they get away with it.
People usually don't want CORs for support and damage, people want CORs for support. End.
Among all jobs, COR is probably the one that relies on SJ the least. Now of course you have dedicated CORs who try to play at their best, but there are also a lot of casual CORs who couldn't care less. As sad as it sounds, it's the truth.
So, /WAR for COR is a 5% DA boost on Joyeuse and +25 Atk/RAtk 60% of the time, with Attack Bonus Job Trait thrown in for kicks.
/DNC and you get 10 RAcc, Box Step, Desperate Flourish, Erase, and Cure 3/Curaga. Then your playstyle can adapt to what your party needs and you can play Healer of Last Resort. I don't understand why it's not the clear choice for Einherjar especially for groups that don't bring a DNC.
If your LS needs another Erase and Cure more than it needs a bit more damage, then your COR should be at the very least subbing DNC. If your LS needs another Erase, Cure, and to reduce the AoE damage taken by melee, then your COR should be subbing WHM and standing back. Think of Acid Mist in Dynamis-Tav, Sonic Boom in Einherjar, pretty much anything Bones do in Einherjar... you should be /DNC at least, and maybe /WHM and standing back for the Bones because you'll be doing shit damage and eating AoEs.
Lol I don't mind COR/WHM for meriting at all. I just let them know off top I'ma be very lazy at it since I don't need to shoot or do much of anything besides roll -> QD -> QD -> roll, and dia1 shit.
Once haste samba becomes available via subjob, /Dnc will be the event sub of choice for Cor imo. Staying out of the /whm argument altogether.
Definitely.
I mean, who needs an additional 5% haste, right?
Wonder how they're going to adjust BST pet levels?
what with some pets being only able to Cap at 75 with merits, i'd hate to see those ones get gimped down because of level 80 (Namely Funguar...)
