I think Comedy Central mistook Sarah Silverman's show for Demetri martins horrible show.
Nothing was lost to me, I seen one episode and vowed to never watch it again.

Sucks about Law and Order, since I watched that every now and then.

There's a chance it's not done, or that TNT or USA might pick it up, which is already what happened with the other L&O.

I think as sad as it makes me, they'll probably just let it die. It's a shame too... after a long time with crappy castmates they finally found a really good formula with the 6 they have now, but I guess NBC is in the crapper enough that it's hard enough for any show to recover from a slump like that, even one with L&O's pedigree.

edit: I guess the thing I don't get is that while it's been reported that L&O's ratings have taken a serious slide over the past 5 or so years, I was still under the impression it was one of NBC's more popular programs (more as a function of NBC being ass), particularly among the older demographics who seem to only watch police/legal procedurals and don't tune in for NBC's other primetime shows. It seems more than a little baffling that they'd outright cancel the show when it doesn't look like they have a lot of other promising candidates to take its timeslot, especially when they could just let it go on for another season, breaking Gunsmoke's record for the longest running TV show, and use that to more aggressively market SVU and the new Los Angeles spinoff.

    ign again
NBC has confirmed the rumors that it is cancelling the original Law & Order, while simultaneously officially announcing the next spinoff in the juggernaut franchise - LOLA. No, it isn't a show about the misadventures of a beautiful but bumbling career-minded gal who is missing something in her love life, but rather the network-provided abbreviation for Law & Order: Los Angeles. In addition, NBC has confirmed that they've renewed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Said NBC's Angela Bromstad, "Law & Order has been one of the most successful franchises in the history of television, which is why it is so critical that we continue this important brand and our relationship with Dick Wolf and his team with LOLA and Law & Order: SVU."

There are reports that Dick Wolf is very upset about the cancellation of the original Law & Order and will try to shop it elsewhere – hoping it can get a 21st season, which would allow it to go in the record books as the longest running scripted live-action series (it's currently tied with Gunsmoke, which also ran for 20 seasons).

Chuck and V have been renewed.

Melrose place shouldnt be on that list.. Ive heard its horrible from everyone lol

Heroes would of been MUCH better, imo, if they stuck to a long standing plot that just stretched multiple seasons. At first weren't they planning to start from scratch every season w/ a new cast/storyline? This allowed them to make ppl OP since it didn't matter for the next followup season. But when they decided to keep the cast, and move from there, it would of been better if they planned a few seasons worth of materials w/a finite end date in mind

Better Off Ted finally confirmed. Not really a surprise at this point, but hopefully we get the last two episodes at the least.

    gonna stick this here
We're in the middle of a network pickup maelstrom here. As of just a few moments ago, NBC has picked up the new Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly) hero-series The Cape and a single-camera comedy called Friends with Benefits, starring Fran Kranz (Dollhouse)

We love Summer Glau on genre shows and she's certainly tried her hand on FOX. Let's hope for better things, or at least more prosperous things, on NBC. Here's the skinny from NBC on The Cape and Friends with Benefits:

"The Cape is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons (ER) as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, Life on Mars) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, Flash Forward). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Faraday becomes "The Cape" his son's favorite comic book superhero -- and takes the law into his own hands. Rounding out the cast are James Frain (The Tudors) as billionaire Peter Fleming - The Cape's nemesis - who moonlights as the twisted killer: Chess; Keith David (Death at a Funeral) as Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape; Summer Glau as Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick (Six Degrees) as Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday."

"From Oscar and Emmy winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind ), Friends With Benefits is a half-hour comedy revolving around a group of twenty-something singles as they navigate the difficult, and often confusing, world of dating. Ben Weymouth (Ryan Hansen, Party Down) is on the hunt for the perfect woman who meets his unique set of standards, while his best friend, Sara Maxwell (Danneel Harris, One Tree Hill), is just looking for a man to settle down with and raise a family. Ben and Sara have fallen into the habit of turning to each other for moral and physical support as they wait for Mr. and Ms. Right to arrive. Their friend Aaron (Fran Kranz), a romantic at heart, doesn't approve of Ben and Sara's complicated friendship, but he, along with womanizer Hoon (Ian Reed Kesler) and straight shooter Riley (Jessica Lucas, Cloverfield), are all distracted with their own dating trials and tribulations."

NBC has also decided to cancel their nurse-dramedy Mercy and the medical-series Trauma.

In other news, CBS has picked up the new Chuck Lorre (Roseanne, Two and a Half Men) series Mike and Molly; a comedy about a couple who struggles with overeating and meet at overeaters anonymous. Also, NBC has re-named two shows that it recently picked up. The Jimmy Smits series Garza is now called Outlaw and the new David E. Kelly (Boston Legal) series Kindreds is now called Harry's Law.

I wasnt surprised about Chuck, I was about V though ... ratings havent been great and it looks like the special effects budget was slashed around episode 6. I enjoy the show so its good news.

Heroes was good for about a season and 3-4 episodes then that damn strike hit and the writers forgot what the hell the show as about. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say. The concept was always better for a limited series anyway.

Melrose is more or less officially canceled as several of its starts are in already picked up new series for fall.

actually McCoy has been DA since season 18, when Fred Dalton Thompson left the cast to run in the 2008 Republican presidential primary. Linus Roache (Michael Cutter) joined the cast 3 years ago to take his old job.

Season 18 was when the show started to turn around (same cast as now, except with Jesse Martin instead of Anthony Anderson) when they replaced that god awful female cop with Jeremy Sisto, who I was kinda iffy on until Season 19. Seasons 16/17 were kinda meh too, I felt like Borgia was a weak DA even though Dennis Farina did a pretty awesome job as Detective Fontana.

For me though, nothing compares to Seasons 7-8, with Jerry Orbach/Benjamin Bratt as cops and my favorite ADA, Jamie Ross (Carey Lowell) and Adam Schiff. Jesse L Martin had some good banter with Jerry Orbach but like everyone else I could have lived without Elisabeth Rohm's robot-ness.

Oddly enough the longest running cast member on the show isn't even Detective Van Buren or Jack McCoy, it's the Medical Examiner chick Rodgers, who still doesn't have top billing after 19 seasons (even though Tamara Tunie got it on SVU in like 3)

Did they? I think I stopped watching it back in 2008...have been wanting to download the episodes I've missed.

It was quite popular/cool back then, what happened?

Also, olde but Firefly has got the be the most dissapointing cancellation/trims for me, you just can't have enough of Malcolm Reynolds.

...least they gave us Serenity the movie, it was one of the best sci-fi movies of the decade.

Nah, it was a suicide. A failled suicide that was attempted again the following year. And again. Then it worked.

They can use the writter strike as an excuse, but there was already many issue with the show that made people not care about it. Season 1 finale is one of them.

Sadly, the US TV industry is nowhere near as reliable in releases to bother with trying to do something like Ker does for anime. So this is the best you get.

Good to see House coming back, but sad to see Law & Order get canceled, that's one show that's just always been there since I can remember, it'll be weird not having new eps anymore :/
