    Flying for the first time.

Does anyone have any tips about any part of the process? Or can anyone sort of walk me through it so I know what to expect? I know this is kind of a broad question, but that's because I don't have the slightest clue and I want any and all tips/advice possible.

Also, how early should I get there? I haven't booked my flight yet, but I think I'm going to get the 6am flight. I'm guessing showing up at 5:30am just wouldn't work lol.

Definitely 4:30 to 5:00ish if you are sticking with the 6am flight plan. Make sure you have everything organized properly in case you are asked questions and most importantly be careful with toiletries that you may pack for your trip. What I normally do to avoid problems is to just hit up a Walmart or a CVS in the city I am flying to and picking up things like toothpaste, razors etc. as opposed to packing it and potentially being screened and questioned.

Most importantly though is to have your time right, it is far better to be there early than to be running slightly late. You can always rest on the plane and while you are waiting. Coming down here to NC yet? :D

Be as suspiscious as possible once on board while waiting for take off. Once in the air become downright erratic.

Window, allows you to lean/put your head on it. Definitely be there early, if you happen to miss they'd probably put you on the next available flight...but that one can very well be on the next day.

First time? Window for sure. You will spend more time checking the scenery and staring at the grandeur than you realize lol. I personally find aisle seating really annoying with people constantly walking past and stewardess doing what they do.

Take your camera for the window as well, youll understand once youre in the air.

Nope. Going to Columbus. It's only a two hour drive but I don't have a car or anyone who take me. Plus, I'm getting all travel expenses reimbursed anyways. Also, I didn't realize toothpaste could be a problem. What about an electric hair clippers and my beard/mustache trimmer? That, plus toothpaste was the only hygiene products I planned on bringing (oh and a brush). Everything else I was going to just buy when I get there.

2 Hours in advanced. Pretty much you go to check in, check in your bag that's going to be below the plane. Then you gotta go through security. Don't forget your license/passport. In your carry on you can't have any liquids over 3.5oz, and you're only allowed 1 carry on+1 personal (eg laptop, for ladies purses etc). As long as your carry on is reasonable size you'll be fine. When you're going through security you gotta take off your shoes, everything out your pockets, take off sweatshirts, and take your electronics out of their cases. After you're done you just go wait by your gate.

If you have sensitive ears, make sure you bring gum to help them pop while you're going up. They tell you to turn off your phones, but it's honestly not going to hurt anything as long as your not using it, same goes for all electronics. You can use your laptop and everything once you're at cruising altitude but can't go online etc. I recommend to bring an mp3 player, maybe some cards to play solitaire or something. On cheap flights food is not complimentary, and it's fucking expensive, inside the airport and on the plane, so eat before hand unless you're like wop or something. Otherwise I can't really think of anything besides make sure you charge your MP3 player lol.

    How much is "reasonable size"?

Also, how much money in fees and such can I expect? I assume there's baggage fees and stuff. I think I'll only have like two bags. I'm assuming I can only carry on one from what you said.

They should sell "travel size" (it's really just like a sample but small enough to be under the 3oz or whatever) toothpaste where ever you shop that should last a week or so. I know at Target there have an entire wall of the travel things for trips and stuff.

Reasonable is like a duffle bag, not an entire another suitcase. Baggage prices vary from airline to airline. I don't really know that much about prices, but I think a lot of flights are free for the first bag (unless it goes over the limit, which I think is like 75lbs), and then additional for extra bags (my extra bag for spirits was $15, which is a cheap flight).

You can bring them on, they just can't be in your carry on bag, they have be in yoru checked bag (regarding the tooth paste over 3.5oz). I'd just play it safe and put the clippers in your check in bag.
