Go at least 3 or 4 hours early in case your airport has walking escalators. Because I usually run up and down those for at least 1-2 hours.

I still lock my bags, you'd be stupid not to considering how they're manhandled by luggage crews, and most security crews should call you over the PA system if they think they need to go through your bags instead of just ripping that shit open.
i must fit some kind of scary small white chick/she is only locking it to hide a bomb profile then. not only have i had to stand there at that table by the checking while some fat g.e.d. possessing tard explains i have to open the lock for him so he can pick at my thongs with a stick, but also have got my bags back after connecting flights in complete dissarray, lock broken, things missing, etc.
now i just put an easy to open clip on the zippers holding them shut, haven't had any problems in the last 2 years or so. this could also just be luck of the draw though too.

window seats suck for a couple reasons, since everyone is suggesting them I'll tell you my prob with them. if theres 3 to a row and you have to piss you have to disturb these fuckers twice, and also when the plane lands I'm trying to GTFO, and window seats fucking suck cause you have to wait on grandma to get her bag unstuck from the overhead.

Bring Gavol if you're afraid of flying. Isle seat if you have jittery legs. I personally like window seat when flying into a city at night. You get an amazing view of all the lights.

He'll be in the air for 30 mins max. First time flying, get a window seat.

They make luggage locks that the TSA people can open these days so you can use those if you still want to put a lock your bags and not worry about it. It should say something on the bottom of the lock like "TSA 001."

Window and Aisle depending on what you like, but considering you're going on for the first time, yeah, Window.

Go aisle if you don't like sitting down all too much and like walking around. It's a complete pain in the ass getting up when 1-2 people between you and the aisle during flight, especially if someone is sleeping. Though yeah, if you like sleeping and pick the aisle, expect to get woken up a lot.

This is kind of advanced, up to you if you even want to bother with it for a first timer. You can sometimes get better tickets if, after you check in, go to an electronic terminal and check of available seats, sometimes you can find rows with absolutely no one, or seats with no one beside you and it makes the trip a lot shorter, since you can actually sleep lying down. You could also try if you really want, to just check in at the very last moment and hope for an upgrade to business.

Personal preference, but I prefer the back of the plane. First to get on, last to get off, so you're not cramped trying to get out or running out of carry on space up top if you're one of the first few rows.

    Never again.
After having too many times of long distance flight experience. For long distance flight, I will pick aisle. When you have to go to bathroom, window seat always is the most uncomfortable.

I don't really like flying, its gross... I tend to overprepare because that way I feel a bit better about the whole process.

Make sure you wear shoes that you can take off quickly for security, might also want to avoid wearing a belt. I f you bring toiletries on your carry-on have them ready when you hit the checkpoint. Put your shoes, belt, toiletries coat/sweater in one bin, and laptop if you have on in the other. Regardless of the length of your flight be sure to bring enough stuff to do because you never know when your flight might get delayed 2+ hours.

Bring a sweater or something like that.. That way if it gets cold or you like the illusion of a blanket you can have it. You can bring and empty waterbottle and fill it up after security so you can have water throughout your trip. I always bring gum because my ears really act up with the pressure. A lot of flights don't have snacks, so you might want to bring something.

Landing can be kind of uncomfortable. When we get close to the ground I typically have my feet planted firmly on the floor and have my eyes closed and focus on relaxing. It can be a bit jolty so not knowing when you are actually going to hit ground means that you are less tense which ends up making the landing better. The real end of landing is just like the end of the rollercoaster when it rushes to a halt, which I don't find that bad.

I like to wear as much as possible just to piss off security. Wallet Chain, House Keys, MP3 Player, Belt, Pocket Watch, Zip-Up Hoodies...
Then my bag full of electronics to follow the wee bin with the rest of my shit.

I'm looking forward to my next flight now I've got a bunch of screws in my knee.

Landing is the best part. Kind of like hitting a bumpy country road or hiking trail.

I had a pilot once who flew past half the runway and skipped the plane the rest of the way with the brakes and throttle full on to slow down.

Most ridiculous landing I've ever experienced in all my years flying, especially considering how the Flaps would groan and grind when they moved. That 737 was bloody ancient.
Between the approach and how he was braking/bouncing the jet I actually thought we would end up in the ocean. He stopped just shy of the end of the runway, when he turned to taxi I could see the water out my window. Good times.

I went for the cheapest flight I could find, which goes to atlanta, then comes back to Ohio and lands in Columbus lol. So it's a 5 hour flight to a place that's 2 hours away. I just couldn't find a ride, and plus I've never flown before so I want to (and also, I'm getting all my expenses reimbursed anyways).

Not sure what Gavol is, but I hate flying real bad. I take Xanax and it never lets me down. Shit, last flight from visiting folks in Montana... six Xanax and I don't remember a thing. Just the way I like it.

Fly non-stop if possible. Having to go through security for every stop is a bitch. Also about the weight thing, I wouldn't worry about it since most of the newer planes are pretty ample in space(I'm 5'10 290lbs and I still fit quite comfortably).

I'm going from Fort Myers Florida to Cincinnati, then 5 weeks later from Cincy to Newark, then a week later from Newark back to Ft Myers. So I have three one way tickets, all of them have a layover/connecting flight.. The one from Jersey to Florida has a layover/connecting flight....in Cincinnati.
