Fly non-stop if possible. Having to go through security for every stop is a bitch. Also about the weight thing, I wouldn't worry about it since most of the newer planes are pretty ample in space(I'm 5'10 290lbs and I still fit quite comfortably).

I've never had to go through security a second time. Once you exit the plane, you're already past the security stuff and you just walk over to the next gate.

Aye, not to mention that even if you do, you've got nothing better to do.

I dunno if you booked it yet, or how tall you are, but try to get the emergency exit row. It has monstrous leg room compared to the other ones. I'm 6'1~ but I'm very uncomfortable in normal seats (at least on spirits), so I/my mom tries to book the emergency exit rows and it's wonderful.
