Most of you have seen a thread on their marathons before, but for those who haven't:

The Speedgamers are a group of gamers who stream games live as a fundraiser for charity. So far they've managed to accumulate over $100,000 in donations for a number of causes. This time they're raising money for Susan G. Komen for the cure, a charity working to find a cure for breast cancer.

Marathon begins tonight (May 7th) at 8pm est, 5pm pst. They'll be playing through the mother series (earthbound) going for all three games in 48 hours, ending on mother's day. Their goal for the marathon is $10,000. Of course, every bit helps, so even if you can't donate try to spread the word to your friends.

Yeah, I had no idea where he was from and actually always wondered that xD Never heard of Mother, but have heard of Earthbound - but have ONLY heard of it, never looked it up or seen it or anything beyond that.

At first I thought you were kidding but you really should give the series a try. Well, more so Mother 2 (Earthbound) and Mother 3. You may lose patience with Mother 1 (Earthbound Zero) and engaging every 3 steps against something.

Mother series is a cult type of game, you love it to death or you don't like it but tend to act indifferent when asked.

Yeah, played the game because my parents bought be the BIG ASS BOX with earthbound on the snes. Came with a strat guide, with scratch and sniff stickers. Wish I didn't lose that guide, still got the game though. As you can tell from my avatar, I loved Mother 3

That's the website for the English patch, ended up patching it and playing it on my psp. Good stuff.

Use to rent EB all the time from Blockbuster until they decided to sell their SNES games. Bought the Eartbound cartridge and even asked if they still had the guide that came with it XD It was really worn but it is in one piece so I'm glad. Sadly, somehow, someone beat me to getting MM7 from the store

I couldn't tell what they named their characters when these guys were playing Mother 3

Their EB cart corrupted, so they went to find a new one. It seems like they get pretty confused about where they'er going or they're actually grinding in EB, which you shouldn't need to do.
