just grab a 2nd one. I always had OCD using 2 different monitors. Colors were way off sized were way off just didn't look right.
I run 2x Asus 26"
While there's a thread about this... my wife's old duals are looking like they might be having problems so we're looking to upgrade. I'm also anal about the matching monitors and look for someone pretty large. Any thoughts about monitors more in the 28" range?
EDIT: Also, does it seem like 16:9 is becoming slowly more standard than 16:10 for monitors? I'm using 24" 16:9s now and loving them and it seems that there are more and more of them and less 16:10s.
EDIT 2: For the OP, my ViewSonic VX2433wm is pretty decent (though I want to go bigger soon). It's Got HDMI, DVI and VGA (and audio, but who cares)... 1080p and all that. I've been using them for about 6 months and they look great and are really damn cheap. You should easily be able to find them for $200. I also use it with my dish receiver and it look fantastic.
wow 28" would be nice, biggest i could find was the 24" that im using :/
I don't usually do this (recommend a Dell product) but this is possibly the best you can get:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=320-8277
That is a nice monitor. Probably not the best (as there are even more professionally oriented panels costing far more)...but certainly a good option for those of us that don't think a $200 TN panel cuts it.
I'm currently running a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824254043 as my main monitor and a http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...-8&sa=N&tab=wf as my secondary. (Originally I was just using the Dell.) The Hanns-G is a great monitor for the price, and includes all the cables you'd need. In addition to my computer, I run a SNES and an N64 through the composite input on the Dell via a splitter, and a PS2 on the Hanns-G using a component cable, coupler, and component to VGA adapter (the last is included with the monitor).
How much to you have to spend? The Dell listed above is really nice, but pricey. HP recently released a more thrifty model with somewhat fewer options but it is reviewing well and is a hundred bucks cheaper: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hp_zr24w.htm
If you don't have 400 bucks to spend this is a popular option: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VW266H-25.../ref=de_a_smtd
It's a weird size but it's cheap as hell for the features/performance balance it achieves.
What's your budget like? Really good monitors that big can cost you $800 and up.
While I can't link or post an image yet (had previous account, but changed for new name), the ::ahem:: Tiny ::ahem:: URL.....site most know ::slash:: BigPixzL0L.
Dont think this is the best or most affordible by anyones standard, but tri-screen those puppies and get your game on!
Yeah, I was hoping to stay sub $300 (each), which is a pipe dream unless I'm going for a Hanns-G. Problem is, I hear a lot of mixed stories about them living short lives. However, I'm not doing any professional photo editing or anything of the sort. I just want a lot of real estate because I multitask like a mad man. Having something quick for gaming (2ms preferably) is nice, but I'm also okay with a TN panel for my purposes. Professionally I'd mostly use the space for stuff like Finale and other music software so size > picture quality within reason.
I'd recommend just getting another Asus VW246H. Having identical monitors is always a good thing; and if you decide to go triple monitor in the future you could either get another one or get a different monitor to put in the middle so that your VW246H's can be on the outside. The U2410 Dell monitor linked above is a great monitor, but it may be a bit out of your price range. I'm currently using a samsung t240hd and in the future I'll probably try to get another one and that dell for eyefinity.
Resolution should be the most important thing to you then, not actual screen size. My 24" t240hd does 1920x1200 and I'm <3'ing it. To step up from 1920x1200 would mean going to 2560x1600.. and that road is pretty expensive.I just want a lot of real estate because I multitask like a mad man. If the VW26 or whatever model Asus 26inch is still available grab a bunch of those. sub 300$ big enough 1920x1200 16:10 with 1:1 scaling so you can put it in 16:9 mode for when you plug shit in through HDMI (ps3) or watch movies on it.
Computer monitors coming in mostly 16:9 is gay as shit, it's for movies mostly and people using them for consoles I guess. Computers should be 16:10, so get 16:10, fuck everything else... just make sure you get a monitor with 1:1 so you can use it for that too <3
This. When I searched around for monitors the first thing I limited my search by was 1920x1200 (16:10) resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping. 16:10, 1:1 is always better.Computer monitors coming in mostly 16:9 is gay as shit, it's for movies mostly and people using them for consoles I guess. Not cheap (my 42" Plasma TV is cheaper) and I've got a $1600 rig powering it, including a 2GB video card. But the price and 2GB aren't me bragging. Most monitors of just about any resolution won't really need more than 1GB of video RAM but once you get to 2560 x 1600 well, they can pull 1.5GB or more, thus making the leap to 2GB cards a real consideration.
I spend more on my builds and less on my monitors lol.
Screw that overpriced monitor of awesome, get 3 cheap ones with multiple 2gb cards running them toss games on lowest settings and fap at 400fps fragging.
Did I mention I'm sick of my 2gb card? Can't wait to replace it (although it is running dual 1920x1200s). But am I replacing it with another 2gb card?!?!?!? thats the real question.
Does anyone here have any experience with the HP zr24w? The reviews seem really good for the price, size, and resolution. The black levels seem like the only real drawback, but it looks like they can be corrected nicely with calibration. My cousin can do that for me, but he's only in town a few times a year. It's sRGB too which is what I prefer.
I'm looking to upgrade my 20" 1680x1050 Dell 2007WFP which is really showing it's age, it's developed and irregular dark mark along the top edge of the screen. The HP's blacks probably aren't any worse out of the box compared to what I have now heh.
Oh sub-300? In that case check this one out:
