Black Wii!

I'm surprised nobody has posted anything about this. New bundle comes out tomorrow, Nintendo is putting Wii Sports Resort and a Motion Plus into all Wii bundles and is releasing a black system finally.

I WOULD trade up my old one and get a black system but apparently Nintendo is being fucking stupid about replacing/crediting your account with the shit you've already bought from the VC. If I was only paying the $50 that GS is charging after trade I would've been fine but I refuse to rebuy all my VC games.

Bleh, I'm trying to stay strong but I really really really wanna get the new color, especially since I have a launch Wii and I've already sent it in for repairs once.

Why do they do that shit with their VC an DSiWare games? This is the type of stuff that really turns me off to such purchases. It must work out for them though. They aren't Sony... they know how to make tons of money.

As for the Black Wii, I wish it was an option when I bought my Wii because my Wii sorely sticks out amongst my stuff. But now I kinda don't care. All of my boxes are white... my controllers are white, etc. I might as well stick with white now rather than switching and trying to replace all of my peripherals also.

If they came out with a Black WiiHD I might consider it, but still not sure at this point.

Pretty much. One of the reasons why it's worth softmodding the console, although I'm taking it these Black Wiis may have new countermeasures against that.

There is copy protection on anything transferred to the SD card. Like Nintendo would allow friends to go 50/50 on Store purchases and then just copy it for their buddy. >.>

I was just looking around about this because I kind of want a black one, but:

You can back up your VC games to an SD card, and play them on another Wii, only if the games have been downloaded on the other Wii already. Essentially the agreement for the games is that it is licensed to you and only you on your console.

I did manage to find someone that sent their Wii in for repairs, and had to jump through some hoops but eventually got his account credited. I also read somewhere else that if you give them the serial number from the first Wii and the serial from the second Wii, they can somehow change it so your games will be on the new one. Didn't find a confirmation of that though.

I've been seeing Black Wii-mote+MotionPlus packs in retail for a good couple months now. Honestly, it's about damn time Nintendo starts making it 'standard' with all new controller purchases as the amount of games on the market that support Motion Plus are extremely slim.

I hardly even notice a difference with the thing, its like all the gimmick accessories that came with the N64, they were marked up at a retarded price, and they hardly did what they were suppose to do.

Besides the Wii Console being a really good seller, I think a lot more of their revenue income for first party items, come from these accessories that people buy into, I know a few of my friends who got Wiiheels or w/e the fuck they are called, for Mario Kart, and then they don't even use them, and they also purchase all the other shitty plastic accessories that break fairly easily, like that gun thing.

I personally only have a Wii-motion plus because of the new Wii resort thingy that came with it, and with the games that support it, I feel better off without having that heavy lump hanging off my controller, it feels more unbalanced with it, it should be standard built in unless that is impossible to do.

I'm sure no one wants to go out and purchase 4 new controllers just to have a 'enhanced experience' but isn't that why we have personal choices? I'm actually waiting to see them release a new sensor bar that further enhances the Wiimotion Plus, and then a new Wii Board Plus that is even more sensitive then current boards, reasons why I don't own a few of these gimmick items is because I know they'll just be replaced by "enhanced" technology that at the time was not possible because the thought of making a shit load of money by rushing a product out the door that is poorly made where the consumers will buy it up as quickly as possible, so they have time to make a better product.

I don't know what happened to my Wii remotes (all three), but at some point in time they all decided to go kaput and whine about controller connectivity if you nudge the damn thing an inch while a nunchuk/classic controller is in use.

I have one of those energizer chargers so I have to unplug my motionplus to charge my remotes, which fkn blows. I think the only game I have downloaded that supports it is Red Steel 2, which I can't even play now because after 20 minutes it gave me extreme motion sickness.

How'd you get RS2 to work? I thought all M+ games had a stupid additional save file or something that only legit copies could make, unless the scene found a way around that?

do you have USB Loader GX? You have to click on Red Steel 2, then go to settings, and have it use an Alternate dol. Then it makes you watch that stupid Motionplus intro movie, after which point it freezes, but the system flags the video as watched so all motionplus games should work fine from that point on (meaning you don't have to watch the video again). Then you can just switch back to the default dol and the game should load fine.

Alternately if you did the same steps with Wii Sports Resort, Red Steel 2 should load without any issues. I have yet to run into any copyright issues whatsoever.
