Help me choose a first car

    Inc long post maybe

Ok i know that i would have to test it first which is normal, but i just wanna know if anyone bought those cars and can give me pros cons for each car (i currently own a 1997 honda civic)

I don't want to get Honda because they are pricy So here are my choices.

Edit for each car i can give a 7000$ downpayment and also for each car i took the month with 0% financing, so thats why some are 48 and other are 60months

Also Toyota and Nissan doesn't seem to have taxes in those prices because they seems low to me Kia and Hyundai both ahve taxes in the prices shown

    Thx

Acura RSX. They don't make them anymore but easy to find for ~$7,000-$10,000 in great condition.

Don't fucking buy a Hyundai. Actually, almost any good condition used car (less than 5 years old) will outperform and outclass a Hyundai (or Kia).

You're always best looking for a car which is 2 years or so old... you save a shit load of cash doing it that way.

Avoid Kia like the plague, Toyota always had a good reputation for reliability(at least in europe) until the recalls of the past year.

Do thorough research, and try and at least see whatever ends up being on your final shortlist in the flesh once(including the interior), but don't be tempted to buy while your browsing, even if they offer some amazing 'limited time' deal.

Since you're buying new, whatever car you end up looking at, type it into Truecar.com and don't settle for a final price that is more than the "great deal" range.

If you do that, you'll avoid the "new cars are a ripoff buy a 2 year old used one" cliche.

My 2005 Hyundai Elantra has never, ever given me problems. The warranty was awesome (Kia and Hyundai have pretty similar warranties dont they?), it gets decent gas mileage, and nothing has ever broken during the 60k miles its been used. It isn't a fun car like my old Trans Am, but it is extremely practical and efficient at accomplishing its main purpose - driving me.

Don't think the Accent and Elantra are much different at all afaik.

Hyundai cars are actually much better quality now than they ever have been. In fact their cars offer options, and accessories that other cars comparably priced just don't offer. That said, I wouldn't buy any of the small cars OP is looking at now. I would recommend that you check out the KIA Forte for slightly more money, KIA is owned by Hyundai, and it has features and comfort thats pretty hard to find at it's price range of about 15~k. I would not buy a versa or a yaris because they are underpowered and are coffins. If you ever get into an accident in one of those cars with a big car or truck you're fucked. Since you can put down about 7k I'd say even if it means making a smaller down payment, you should see what kind of options you can get for slightly better cars.

Please use Edmunds.com to search by price range, it's really a great tool.

Speaking as someone who used to be an EMT, it doesn't matter what you drive. They're all coffins. Some of them just make it easier to clean up afterwords.

At any rate, you should buy a car that personally appeals to your style that will do what you want it to do that you can afford. Can't stress that enough. And it's usually a better idea to buy a used car, but I can understand the desire to own something that is just yours. I'm assuming since you posted with a set of various vehicles you've already applied those three principles, but I think if you really want opinions on those specific vehicles you'd be better off using Google than asking here.

The thing is that i have like max 400$ per month to put on a car (including insurance) Forte would cost me 300$ per month which is too high for me

I'm looking more at the Rio, because first i hve contacts in Kia so i can get a little lower price, 2 by looking at it, it seems to give me more options then the Hyundai.

Nissan i might say no because iheard that they cost alot to repair if they break.

Toyoto i didn't hear anything bad about it until the break proble this year.

Hyundai well it's cheap so yea

Ok, so let's talk used cars for a second. People seem to be convinced that if you buy a 2 year old used car it is such a great deal compared to a new car.

For my test, I'm going to look at an excellent condition 2008 Toyota Corolla S Manual with stock features and 20,000 miles, vs. a new 2010 Toyota Corolla S Manual.

2008 with 20,000 miles, accd to Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value (what you'd pay at a dealer) in Excellent Condition: $14,325

Now let's look at what people actually pay for a brand new stock 2010 Toyota Corolla S Manual: 95 of the last 600 sold were sold for less than $15,000 - some as low as $14,217 (Click details/national on the chart to see this).

Where's that used car savings again? Just be a good negotiator and you can eat all that up.

The reason why i want a new car is i don't want the "Sell a car with problems buy 1 with problems"

You know the use car that will go well for 2months then break, and your stuck without warrenty

    Yeah that
