yes, i'm using youtube as evidence for what people are calling it/thinking about it, as i stated. not using youtube for evidence for anything else, as my post stated. l2read a bit more before you respond

If your e-mail address and password get compromised (something that can happen even if your PC is 100% secure) the authenticator will protect you from getting your shit stolen.

1) e-mail address can be obtained easily via search routines, password can be guessed via dictionary attack if it's insecure

2) you log in on another machine that isn't secure

3) you use the same password for WoW that you do for a 3rd party service that gets compromised

4) you buy gold

And that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more I overlooked in the minute of thinking about it.

The beautiful thing about authenticators is that the most common way people are hacked and have their shit stolen, is via username/password being weak or keylogged and information on the account being changed. Authenticator prevents people from logging in the account itself so you will never log in to find a naked toon.

2 and 3 would not fall under the category of being on a secure computer.

1 is lol and anyone that would claim to have a secure computer wouldn't have a password that could be easily obtained and most people i know change passwords fairly often.
