Hey look, a copy-paste article thread with an inflammatory title. Never get sick of these.

Videogames and Blogs are old news. Everyone plays Facebook now.
More proof that Obama is a terrible person. Also, I'm shocked Jobs hasn't sued yet.

In ye olden time people were able to recite pages of poetry from memory nowadays we can just look it up. I think the problem with google is that it's too convenient. How many of you have used google to look up something and months or a year later look up the exact same thing? People aren't using their memory much and keep referring to their online brain, and when we do it's used for memorizing garbage on the internet.
Not exactly on topic but something similar was a news story I heard some months ago about there only being 1~2% of people remembering phone numbers/passwords etc and not having to rely on gadgets to do it for them. Anyone here in that 1~2%?
I guess it's good to flex those memory muscles every now and then?

Didn't Secret Service need to forcibly remove him from his Blackberry? Eat a dick, old man.
Ok, now explain to me what exactly is wrong with that?
The majority of human invention was invented in order to save us time, or to replace a function of our routine and/or anatomy.
If electronics make a better storage device than the brain does...and that IS why this is an issue...than we have improved.
The fact that old habits and ways we did things may change as a result of that leads into the territory of DUHHHHHHHH.
This entire topic is old people bitching about "back in my day".
And? Your point is that people in modern times can't remember pages of poetry or that people of ye olden times couldn't look it up?
Wow...I think the problem with google is that it's too convenient.
Everyone should be expected to have a photographic memory, I take it?How many of you have used google to look up something and months or a year later look up the exact same thing?
I thought you just said that nobody can remember anything anymore and now you say they are remembering stuff. Way to defeat your own point.People aren't using their memory much and keep referring to their online brain, and when we do it's used for memorizing garbage on the internet.
This. Our technology is far outpacing our evolution. We were designed to spend most of our time and energy on survival. This is no longer necessary, and so we find ourselves with loads and loads of free time (and with our engineered foods, lots or excess energy too).
Most of our generation is devoted to providing services we don't need. This isn't likely to change in the foreseeable future.

But he's got this three point plan, first, we got this guy, Not Sure, and he's the smartest dude on the planet!
Anyone else get tempted to make the same face he did when they go get their next ID/License picture taken?
Why does it have what planets need?
Ok, but why do you use electrolytes to make Brawndo?

It just occurred to me that college textbooks can come in the form of 140 character tweets in the not-so-distant future. I weep for the next generation.
