Random Question Thread X: Fucking 99 Level Cap, How Does it Work?

Darksteel+1 should cost between 200~600k if you get it crafted (i've done two sets myself, and the first cost me 200k, the second was ~650k (1/2 hat, 1/24 body (npc'd about half of them), 1/13 hands (npc'd all nq), 1/14 feet (npc'd all but 3 nq), depending on luck, and how much of the nq you npc, and how much you sit around selling on the ah for weeks/months. If you're patient enough to sell all the nqs on the ah, you'll likely spend in the range of 100~300k on all 4 pieces.

The best set (without dring) is terra's, umbra, collosus, jelly, patronus, darksteel+1 x4, asa pants. That is 48% in the day, and capped at 50% at night, with 4% extra you could drop in favor of def.

Hexerai cape beats lamia+1 for mdt.

Provided they raise the level cap in the june update, I may take warrior up to 75 and those merits, of course, would be put into great axe.

That being said, w/ no axe or sword merits, and a near capped gear full usu merited mnk, is there any point in even lv'ing axe?

I can't think of any situations I'd use DW war over mnk. (Especially unmerited)

Nah, not really. If you don't have a ridill, dw is completely useless, and even then it's only really good for easier (merit level or lower) mobs, which like you said, you'll be better off using mnk for since you have it so well geared.

I was stuck without a rune chopper in a pt once(they didn't have refresh so i grabbed my fortitude) and I outDDed the ridill war by a large margin. I did the almost same on my nin without magians DA weap but jp DD dont count so take that with a grain of salt or whatever.

First one by a lot. Summoners are a waste of space, so it's better to have as few of them as possible.

I'd change Darksteel cap+1 to Louhi's Mask for a "best set," this makes it 49 day while still retaining 50 at night without any inventory room lost.

And on to the other group proposal:
Dump the SMN, dump the BLU, get a BLM and two Scholars. With final jobs as: PLD/war, SAM/rng SCH/rdm SCH/rdm BLM/whm BRD/whm.

SCH SCH BLM SAM/rng will kill the mammets in under 3minutes max, have Omega finished within 15mins of entering, and Ultima finished within 30minutes of entering.

If you take any longer than that 30 minutes with that above setup, the people in the group need to suck less or try harder.

We went in SMN, BRD, SAM/rng, SAM/nin, WHM, PLD. Wiped once to Omega, only had 4 CCB's and won with about 3 and a half minutes left. But 1/2 :D
