So for the DEX+4, Acc+8 Dagger, I need to kill:
100 Rabbits in any weather : The Tree/U.Range/Terrigan? Do Snow Hares count?
100 Crabs in Light-based Weather : The Tree/Vunkerl Inlet (S)?
100 monsters in Lightning Day/Weather : Thinking Ladybugs in Jugner (S). Just go out on Lightningdays and grind them out?
100 Plantoids in Lightning Day/Weather : The Tree? <-- This one looks crappy
150 Arcana in Lightning Day/Weather : Ro'maeve?
150 Qutrubs in Lightning Day/Weather : The DC ones in the Reef I guess?
So, up to the last two trials I'm thinking I could possibly get by on BRD/BST, which is cool because it lets me do these solo before my DNC hits 75 (and 40+% Haste/Heca). My pet's kills will count for these trials, right?
I did Vunkerl again for these, lightning weather is quite common.
Tree is best option, yes.100 Plantoids in Lightning Day/Weather : The Tree? <-- This one looks crappy
Again, yup.150 Arcana in Lightning Day/Weather : Ro'maeve?
Yup, try doing some /sh an hour before lightning day to team up with people, will get a group fast I imagine.150 Qutrubs in Lightning Day/Weather : The DC ones in the Reef I guess?
Probably. Kills from other people in pt/ally count, can't see why ones from pets won't.My pet's kills will count for these trials, right?
edit - what do you mean by heca? If you mean Hecatomb armor, dnc can't use.
My DNC is only 66, I'm leveling it but would like to ding into this dagger in at least an almost-completed form. So I'll go out on Bard/BST and grind out kills, which is cool because I can double-march myself and I have over 20% haste from gear, then I also can wear the Hecatomb armor set (and Haidates) for WS. No self-healing may become a problem, but in Sigil/Signet areas it probably won't be that much of a problem. I can trade a March for a Paeon once in a while if I have to.
Oooh, you meant on your brd. Sorry, brain fart moment there for me, had a few today, makes sense now! Also, if you're worried about self-healing, could use your fellowship NPC if you have one levelled?
Just a quick fix its 200 Qutrub not 150!
My WHM is 65 and headed towards 75, I enjoy the job a lot but could use advice on picking up status effects more efficiently. Can anyone help on how best to set up chat filters (and text colors) to do this?
For example, the other day my party was fighting hippogryphs, they were using Choke Breath but I wasn't picking up the Paralyze/Silence effects very well at all. I'd really like to raise that aspect of my game, thanks in advance for advice.
For SAM.
Would Amano or Yoichi be a better weapon to get?
Yoichi will produce more damage in any situation that your LS won't mind you using a Soboro
Amano will produce similar damage, and allow you to be at the top of your game during situations where you want to keep TP-feed limited, as well as allowing you to tank like a motherfucking champ
Depends on your priorities
Err, and also sorta' worth mentioning, both Kaiten and Namas are going to blow without appropriate attack buffs, while Amano still has YGK to work with.
What about Amano allows you to tank more effectively than if you were using using Soboro + Yoichi? Unless you were just tying that into the whole idea of feeding less TP.
Edit: upon revision I think I was probably just reading the sentence wrong, derp. Also I was assuming you'd be spamming Sidewinder rather than Namas.
Yoichi >>> Amano..
Having your WSs generate the same amount of hate as a single cast of dispel = sex.
Amano is underwhelming honestly >.>.
Nevermind the fact that its arguably one of the most effective tanking weapons in the game
ASA Add-on fight #10 against the clones - does every member of the fight need the key items to reduce damage, or does only the person who triggers the fight need all 8 elemental saps?
I figure just the person who triggers, but otherwiki doesn't list a specific answer.
Nvm: it is listed on the otherwiki.
Coming from the guy who jumps at every oppurunity to suck Aegis dick makes me think there may be some bias in any opinion given in the relic department.
Amano is not at all underwhelming for multiple reasons, of all the relics it has one of the largest increases in output next to the best non-relic counterpart.
That said, yoichi will probably put out more pure damage in most situations but not by a lot. Also upcoming magian trials will likely completely change yoichi's potential if OAT~ is one of the augments planned.
uh...?Amano is not at all underwhelming for multiple reasons, of all the relics it has one of the largest increases in output next to the best non-relic counterpart.
Bandwagon going on in here?
Yeah Tomoe is nice, with amano you can eat red curry, tp in foragers/justice torque whilst still keeping accuracy to cap on everything where you would otherwise be using polearm.
Total difference is over 100 attack plus an extra 12 str with a WS that should average higher numbers on neutral targets.
Edit: I forgot to account for the attack from the 48 skill difference, so really its more like 150 difference in attack between the 2 weapons.
