Edit: I forgot to account for the attack from the 48 skill difference, so really its more like 150 difference in attack between the 2 weapons.
I wouldn't argue that Tomoe is going to be better than Kaiten in situations where both weapons are good, but I also wouldn't argue that Amano is 150mil worth of damage upgrade, especially when you could have gotten Yoichi for almost the same amount.

Kaiten: Heavily attack modified, 60% STR, 3.0 fTP, Higher attack due to higher skill/meat
Penta: Heavily attack modified, 20% DEX/STR, 5.0 fTP, Piercing damage

They get TP at about the same speed, have about the same base damage (pre-magian upgrades) Amano has higher DoT and much higher attack.

    Then again:
Namas Arrow: Heavily RAtk modified, 40% STR/AGI, 2.75 fTP, and all the benefits of being a ranged attack (half level correction, double fSTR) along with enough of an RAcc boost in the aftermath that SAMs can land it while essentially just whoring RAtk and mods.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the shit is practically hateless.
Doubleedit: And double yeah, you can also fire them off faster than either of the above options by quite a bit. 5-hit it with Soboro and it's somewhere around 2.3 attack rounds to 100TP if I remember right. ~75-100% increase in WS frequency.

Think whoring RAtk is gay? Well, on HNMs you'll never have to worry about hate and suffer half the pDIF penalty due to level correction that an Amano does. Merit party setup event? You can do a ton of damage without taking hate by just riding Hasso and tossing out Namas's like there's no tomorrow. Yoichi wins.

I still remember being pissed at a Yoichi SAM we had because he kept WSing my slept birds because they were at a more optimal range for him. Mostly because the bird would wake up and chase the bard.

That said, yoichi will probably put out more pure damage in most situations but not by a lot. Also upcoming magian trials will likely completely change yoichi's potential if OAT~ is one of the augments planned.
    You're trying to hard.

AMK hat for SCH or SMN, Not sure what to put on it. D: Pet buffs on it kinda suck, and my sch is on it's way to 75 but not quite there so not sure what head pieces beat it. So what should I put on it?

If you have RNG 75, or could get RNG to 75 kinda soon, I'd go for Yoichi, hands down.

For example, the other day my party was fighting hippogryphs, they were using Choke Breath but I wasn't picking up the Paralyze/Silence effects very well at all. I'd really like to raise that aspect of my game, thanks in advance for advice.
The best thing you can do is cut out anything to do with damage of your alliance/party etc I'm assuming you don't see your or anyone else's missed attacks/attacks evaded etc already.

You don't need to see anything outside the alliance anyway. Make sure you can see:

Special actions started on/by: foes and party
Special action effects on/by: foes and party

If you're curing your alliance outside party you'll also want to see the above for alliance, otherwise you'll miss things. If an effect is targetted on someone in the other alliance parties you won't see whether it lands without the alliance filter off.

I basically see damage I take, damage my party takes and the special action stuff.

Then, change the colour of your text. I make all beneficial stuff one set of colours and all bad stuff another (red). Make sure everything contrasts with each other. I have...

... but play around with the colours until you get something that works for you.

Thanks, that's very helpful. I have most of it set up already, but will go back over it and adjust the details to make sure they're all correct.

    I appreciate the advice.

Magic Accuracy. How does it affect BLU magic? I.e.
1 - Improve accuracy of physical spells?
2 - Improve add. effect (e.g. head butt stun) land rate?
3 - Improve magical spell add. effect (e.g. regurg bind) land rate?
4 - Improve magical spell resist rate?

I was under the impressions it was 2,3,4.

There's no documented effect of macc on physical spell accuracy, so I'm pretty sure 2, 3, 4 is correct.

For double attacked weaponskill hits, do they also receive the WSC bonus to base damage or are they just a normal swing? I know that the FTP multiplier was 1, just wasn't sure about the actually stat bonuses.

    Extremely random question

Anyone have the 800 number for customer support handy. Haven't heard from email support and have a 6 hour drive to make so I can handle their absurd hold times.

    They have WSC as well.

Unconfirmed definitively whether they possess pdif bonus/acc bonus as some WSs have on the main hit.

I've heard that they receive the WS stat bonuses, but I've never met anyone who has tested it. The easiest way to test it would be to find a low level Yagudo NIN, let him put Utsu: Ichi up, swing twice, and hit him with a 300TP Warrior's Charge Steel Cyclone. Your first hit will be absorbed by Utsusemi, your forced DA will hit him. Check to see if it's over the theoretical max you'd get from just (your weapon damage and fSTR)*pDIF.

Edit: And they could potentially benefit from the crit boost as well, though also unconfirmed. pDIF boost would be the easiest to test.

Continuing on from the Yoichi vs. Amano argument from previous page. Otherwiki states that Namas Arrow is always a static 160 CE/480 VE. Does that hate also carry over for the self-skillchain? For instance, if you just use Namas Arrow alone, it produces 160/480. If you use Namas Arrow to close a Light skillchain, will the damage produced from the skillchain be included? Or will the skillchain damage have a seperate hate factor attached to it?

What exactly is a Tachi: Rana build suppose to look like and what GK would be best to use?

SC damage has independent enmity, so it will generate standard enmity

Quick VNM question (prolly been answered before but have been unable to find answer):

Can you have multiple t3 key items on you at one time? I know you have atleast 1 of each at a time, and only one clear abys at a time, but what about multiple t3s?

Yeah, you can have 1 of each T3 since they are different color stones/key items.

Meant to ask multiple of the same t3. Can you have more than 1 blue abyssite?

In situations where you intended to use rana outside of a SC...you would probably just penta thrust! So...use tomoe! Potentially you could use rana with rindo or pachi 5-hit but you're getting into silly decision territory when using rana over gekko.

While Rana is a multihit WS, it also has an accuracy bonus so you can basically pretend it's like YGK without the attack bonus. While you would pile on strength, you would make more obvious swaps like Osode for Haub +1, Smiley +1 for Forager's/Cerb, etc.

The only ambiguous option offhand I can think of would be gloves for alky vs bando kotes and rse ammo vs black tathlum.
